Cant tell what you have for airflow in your RM cab.

I'd try the large sponge in a cup of water first. This will require monitoring and testing to see how much surface area evaporation will get you the desired result.

From there you can make more modifications to have a self feeding gravity bottle or similar to feed the sponge to minimize checks/refills.

You can also just purchase a cheap regular humidifier and position or attach it to your intake.

Key point being you want air exchange and circulation anyways so you should be able to tap into that vs having to install more fans or overly large contraptions.

I was having low humidity issues...and someone suggested putting a cup of water inside the box. It didn't help at all, I was about 25%. Now my box ranges from 45%-60% at the highest usually after watering. I believe this is due to adding a 4x4 fan in the upper right corner of my setup for outtake. I also have a 4x4 slot on the bottom left hand portion without a fan, just covered it with stocking and taped it off to be a smaller portion (about 2x2) to help fresh air suction into the box. Was having temp issues (too high) and this solved that problem too.

I noticed with my setup that humidity was low if plants where dry. Make sure there soil is moist and spray foilage (plain water)really good. It brought my humidity up to 50% atleast. was always in 30-40% range before.

I heard foilage watering caused a white powder on leaves and also burning
thought so myself. But after watching Ready Set Grow. I does help and keeps dust and bugs off plants. mind ya.. havent had any bug problems. but yeah... I did have that powder look to my plants at one time but I was just lightly misting them. Spray the foilage tops and underneath from what I have seen and read.

I don't know what your ventilation is like but you can take some perlite or vermiculite and soak it in water and place that in the bottom of your cab in a shallow container. Re-wet the perlite when it dries out with clean water, no nutrients. That should raise your humidity some.

Also, a RH of 35% is fine. You won't have to worry about mold issues during flowering. My tent fluctuates between 35% normal and 46% whenever it rains, I've never had a problem with it. If anything you may need to water a little bit more if the soil is drying out too fast.

I just place a bucket/container of water with a wet towel hanging on a line above like it`s hanging up to dry but the bottom of the towel is in the bucket wicking the water up.
