Rare Dankness Grow report/reviews for Colorado

Midas went into bloom yesterday. 10/10 germination, 4/10 females.

I got 6/6 germination on Abusive Afghan but looks like only 3 will be grown out. I fucked 3 of them up trying to germinate in rockwool (I usually use rapid rooters or paper towel method). The seeds cracked but never came up properly and ended up dying. Live and Learn....

On a happy note the three Abusive Afghan deaths left me room to start a bagseed found in a bag of Rare Dankness Rectangle grown by Nestor from the old Natural Alternatives. Around the time I found this seed, I read a post from Moonshine saying he had just received a Rectangle male from Nestor he was going to use and I have my fingers crossed that this is a Rectangle F2 seed that has that same daddy Moonshine found worthy of breeding!
Anything I find that is special is of course welcome to the community.

I am on the Cali Side of things now but gotta grab some more beans out here and get shit cracking since my testers were both males.... I was going to hit up San Fran to meet up with R.D. and kick it but my truck blew up again dang it all. Time to get a new vehicle from a dealership so KIA here I come!

Facewreck smells like spearmint and motor oil every branch needs support floppy plant with thin stems but the buds are nice and dense. I pulled it around 8 weeks to make room but I should have let it go longer would have been worth it.

Just popped Ward Da Reek N OG, Afghan H.A., Alfred Packer. Will Post pics when they get worthy. New to the site but not new to the trade! Was running some Rectangle I got from Nestor at Natural Alternatives but decided to move on. But crossed it with a Colorado Diesel and have a few beans. Some day those will get popped. Colorado needs higher plant counts!

I don't know guys, I don't know what to think. I popped these on June 13, so a month ago. I put them in rockwool three days later.

And here they are in situ.

I'm definitely not an expert seed popper, but these seem to be taking FOREVER. The one on the right especially concerns me. Think I should throw them in soil and see if things improve?

On a side note, I popped three and all three looked great at first. One grew like gangbusters until the stem started getting thinner and thinner, until it pretty much folded over and died. It wasn't a matter of stretching. The stem got thinner. In my many many months of growing (since February, folks!), I've never seen anything like it.

I'm trying the one of the Ghost Train Hazes as soon as it gets here. Maybe they will be more vigorous.

Hey 420 - I would move those seedlings to soil and be careful not to over water them. Rockwool holds quite a bit of moisture so let the soil get good and dry between waterings. Looking at that other plant in your tub (tomato?) it seems something is not right with your environment. You may want to ask in they plant problems or hydro section for specific advice.

Regarding the seedling whose stem got thin then fell over, that sounds like damping off to me. It is usually associated with too much moisture.

Thanks, Medshed. Yeah, I had a bit of a pH mishap with my hydro tomatoes and peppers. These seedlings were having issues way before that, though. I fished them out of the drink based on your advice, and they are looking much better now. I just don't have the hang of rockwool, you're right. Thanks for taking the time to comment!

Ya we have all heard the different stories about where the moniker came from, I kinda wasn't around when it came about but I think I can speak for all of us when I say that, where the name came from doesn't mean now what it meant then. Now when you say "OG" (typically) your in possetion of some fuely, earthy, chemmy, funky, kushy, buds possibly w some other smells flavors hiding out in there.. On the level tho, you won't find any haters here. Just a bunch of very level headed peeps w enough fire to burn down Pike's Peak.

It totally means original gangster when discussing ice-t and gangster rap. The "legend " says that the original og was grown by the ocean and the mist would blow in giving the plant something special. Once the hip hop community got ahold of it they ran with it. Now you have og everything. Thanks chef I needed that. Its al marketing. Never thought I'd say that about herb. Either way dank is dank no matter the name.

How big is your tent hotsauce? I grow in a 3x3x6. Had a hell heat issue this past spring. I know I gotta seal my light. How else do you keep temps down. A/c?

Fighting the shit out of temps myself, hoping sealing up the second hood will help, that and rebuilding the fucking swamp cooler.
Anyhow as far as cooling goes intake air temp is everything (well an air cooled hood goes a long ways too), but if you are pulling in 85 degree air, you are never going to get it below that. So clearly when temps are 100+ degrees as they are now, intaking from anywhere not cooled in one way or another is going to play hell.
I have always gone with more is better in air flow numbers, i probably run 1500 true cfm when lights are on. This way i can skip cooling the room separate from the rest of the house, or adding co2, as a family of 4 in a fairly small house produces a fair amount of co2 naturally. Down fall to the huge air movement numbers is having a big enough carbon filter to keep up, but this is the one place to never skimp, i know my $250 couldn't have been spent in any better way, saved me more than you (or I) will ever know.

When this was going in the temperature outside my tent didn't get over 50 leading me to believe I need a sealed Hood.
