Personally, I wouldn't go bigger than 6x6 with a single 1000w mh. For a 10x10 room, I would use four 1k lights.

Hey Cloned,

I am dealing with the same exact issue and I come to realize if its anything over 3000 lumens per square foot your ok. I know the sun is like 10000 lumens per square foot on a hot summer day but not all of us have that much $$$ to put into lights. Also, try to get 1 bulb that is HPS/MH to keep a LITTLE bit of the blue spectrum. I have heard and seen a few rooms now that use 1 1000w HPS w/ 1 1000w HPS/MH and the results are very nice. I would take the lumens you have divide it by the square feet and see if your over 3000. Hope this helps

i don't think i am AxJxAxX. i'm thinking my 1000 mh might be 100,000 lumens. divide that by a 100 sqft room and what da ya have. 1000 lumens p/sqft

There is a thread with a chart on lums. But the higher the light the fewer the lums hit the plant. and it drops off fast. You would go from say 1000 to 500 in a few inches.

Pack all ur plants into about half of the room... Ur light should be plenty if you reduce the sq ft. of the grow space. Good luck

Packing them tight always helps too! Also, you can assume 30 - 50 watts/per square foot.

100 x 30 = 3000 watts
or
100 x 50 = 5000 watts (common for a lot of SCROG based grows)

Regardless, I would get a good amount of light into that area for nice dense buds!
