The only thing shitty about using those big ass smart pots is later in the summer when it gets hot you have to water the shit out of them. When the plants fill them up it doesnt take long to go dry and especially if the wind blows at all. If you could i would dig a hole about 1/3 the size of the pot and put the pot in the hole to help out a little bit. It will also keep the roots cooler and maybe cut the watering down. But i guess if your digging a hole like that you might as well double the size and plant right into the ground. I found last year that when The plant was in the ground it did way better than in the 45 gallon smart pot.

I liked the smartpots , they were the best pots I've ever used. I just added extra vermiculite and they held moisture just tits. I'm gonna do 14 in 30 gallons this year.

Dirt's cheap bro. I think 100gl smart pot is min for outdoors. You can fill one with good soil for $50. You can easly grow several pounds of top shelf weed, in a 100gl smart pot filled with good soil. Good luck bro, but I'd go a little larger if you can. Check craigslist, you can find people stepping up, selling their old smart pots.
