How many did the rat say you had vs what you actually had?
Kinda a funny story. I was living in a townhouse and running an illegal shop on the garage. My asshole of an neighbour ratted me out saying a had a whole bunch in the garage. But they found my closet grow in my bedroom. The weed got tossed by I still got nailed for the shop. stupid city bylaws

Very true. The skunk is hard to hide. Get the big filter. The heat is also a less obvious way for them to tell. Fly the ghetto bird over and see what the flir picks up if they already suspect you're growing.
Dont fear the flir...unless your planning a whole house grow with little or no environmental control

That sounds like a reasonable situation to not proceed with charges. The info has to have substance and truth to it. If you get caught with 40 plants and the rat said there should be 50 but they described your grow room and know exact locations of things in your building you're more often then not getting convicted. But if they say 50 and you have 4 you're probably gonna have them dropped. The devil is in the details. The judge issuing the warrant has to be reasonably sure the info sworn to is accurate cuz if it's not it's just a waste of time for the justice system. I can tell you 100% I've seen a warrent for a grow that didn't have any plant count mentioned in it until after the raid when they do an inventory of everything they're seizing. The details of where it is and how it's set up, what equipment is being used ect was in there and the grower was convicted. Civic bylaws all suck.
