Of course you can do it. I'm assuming you found a mother, or you need to preserve that strain.
Just trim the plant down to get you bud...but leave some leaf matter on the plant as far down as you can. If in pots...Some people like to transplant as well....but trim about an inch or two of the outside of the rootball before putting in the new pot.
Put your plant to be revegged under 24hr light schedule till she reverts(long time).
