So, Ok here's the situation, my parents went away on a weeks vacation....
wait no thats not it, here is my cabinet. How big of a light can I put in??? Its got a 150 hps but that is not gonna be the light I think. I know how much the ballast and bulbs should cost, but I need a cool tube think or somthing ? how big of an hps light can I put without worrying about heat with the cool tube light and do I need a recifier for it? I dont want heat to be a factor or the grow to be real loud. But I might as well have a good light if I can keep those two things from being an issue.

my cabinet pictured below is and is 25.63Lx18.87Wx69.38

but a 250 would be good....as for heat, is there a way u can leave it cracked? or add a fan?

My parents don't live with me that would be totally stupid to grow if they did, its only me my wife, and my 4 and 8 yr old... much better ;) Maybe I should add another 150 watter? Can I do a 400 watt and keep it cool that cab though?

id say you might be able to cram a 400 watt cool tube in there.

Just make sure you buy a good inline fan with at least 200-300 cfm, at least!

Is that cabinet made out of plastic, if so heat will be an issue cuz if you put the light to close to the top it could potentially melt the plastic.

I dont think you need a reflector in that small space, but it would never hurt.

Also, think about lining that whole thing with mylar, you would really improve light efficiency and that may cancel out the need for a reflector.

cool , its cool but it is high quality plastic... uhh no it isn't :) I won't keep it too close but i need a tube around that bulb, I haven't grown in 5 yrs what are they called? and how much do they cost?

thanks Beta, if you were a woman I would fuck you, and then run your skull through sheet rock to show you how much I appreciate it :)

A dude is telling me 250 HPS is as much as that cab can handle...... I guess even with a cooltube

There is a picture on a thread somewhere of a guy touching his cooltube with his hand while its running.

In my mind, if you can keep a 400w cool enough, and it fits in the cabinet, then why not use one?

More lumens = better bud

you could prolly put a 400 without it being a cool tube i bet with just ventilation if you take some shelves out

bought a 6in inline fan, and about to buy a cooltube. I would rather be safe then sorry I think it would get pleanty hot without the tube. With that being said I bought a scrubber with a fan built in , and shouldn' t have I have no where to put it in and its way too big to go in my cabinet
