Hey!

I have inherited 100 acres of land, and want to dedicate 30 acres into becoming a weed nursery in Florida. I was denied before because I had not owned a nursery with 400 plants for over 30 years. I'm really interested and want to make it happen. I have the capital to do it, and I think that I have the access to those who have nursery, but I want to know when I apply again in Florida, how should I go about all this? Would it be easier to go about it the lawyer route way or just jump all in with the application? October 1st they are going to look through applications again, and you have priority if you have already applied before.

I really need advice and I want to make this happen!

Let me be clear, I'm 25. My parents are 50+ and want to invest in this. They are the ones providing the capital, and are the ones spearheading this whole thing. They claim to have researched alot, but i want to know as much as i can because they want to put my name on everything since they are both in the medical profession and by law not allowed to. So, please any insight would be dope--for my sake. I'm an already serieal entrepreneur that has made some of my wealth at a young age........I just want to be as well aware as i can be before jumping all in.

30 acres really isnt very much..Im not sure on the profits of a 30 acre cannabis farm but from a farming perspective its hard to make a living off 50 acres.

Your probably better of speaking with the relevant agriculture department on what licensing you may need and the approval process or getting your lawyer to do that. Sounds like a lawyer would be your first call.

It’s definitely possible but getting a license in Florida is really tough u will need to have a few million dollars to get a license they want 120k for the license and u need to show another 2million $ to the state so they know u have enough capital to survive

If you have a few million dollars to invest investing it in a grow operation would be a very poor financial decision.

Move to Alaska. Takes a bit as we are backlogged but $5000 unlimited grow. $1000 for 500 square feet.

Every Alaska resident is qualified to apply for a PFD check every year. Your share of a tax pool from the pipeline.

This is just a bad idea all around...even the biggest cannabis companies on the planet( canopy...aphria... Aurora...) Have tiny tiny stock prices. As soon as Canada's rec market goes full bore you will see the global cannabis supply tailspin into a whore market and the value of dried flower will implode...just watch

Why not stay as a nursery instead of a grow operation and sell clones, seeds, and mature plants for others to grow. I'm sure the license would be no different to obtain than if you were opening a pot-shop.

I've always found it funny how people claim that weed grown in a particular area is better than that from other areas. In any case, the value has already plummeted to around $1300 a pound on average.

Florida. Homie don't play that. We have no legal home grow, even for medical.

Tell your parents to send you to school to be a doctor. I don't think you understand the work that goes into this stuff. It's not an easy lifestyle by no means. It's not a get rich quick scheme. If you don't have a master grower or two in your pocket your doomed. Might as well just flush that money down the toilet.

I have a friend in the tropical plant business. Located here in the Florida panhandle, but they sell internationally. His sister is well connected with the Republicans in Tallahassee. They looked into getting into the medical market, and easily decided it was just too much outlay for the profit. That is not even taking all the political bullshit into account. Just in dollars and cents, {them with a company already in place. Greenhouses and trained workers}, it would have meant $2M just to get started. Who knows what the laws will be like before you ever make that back.

yes, i have noticed in states where things like this are placed on a ballot for vote, but governed by republicans can create more problems. it's almost like abortions. in republican states they do everything they can to make it difficult, although legal. it's white evangelicals that lead the cause with their republican politicians.

oklahoma republicans are already making things terrible for the new medical law. not outdoor grows, etc....

we need to stop electing fake christian hypocritical republican morons...

Florida’s governor Rick Scott fought FOR pharmaceuticals during the pill epidemic but is now fighting against medical marijuana the guy is crooked asf and he’s also let the coastal waterways be polluted with green algae from Lake Okeechobee rain runoff they direct the rain water into the ocean instead of pushing it south toward the Everglades where it’s supposed to go because he’s getting paid by BIG SUGAR to keep it that way so their crops don’t get flooded there’s tons of dead fish and manatees it’s sickening
