Recently interested in PC grows. Show me yours!

I just recently learned that people are growing inside of PC towers. I have several full size towers (some of them are a few decades old) that i can use to start a hobby grow along side my main grow. I think it would be a lot of fun to mod a case and do a small two plant sativa scrog inside.

I tore this forum apart looking at some pc grows but it was a pain the ass to look through every post for pictures for ideas and information. So im asking all of you micro/pc growers out there to post some pictures and brag about your PC grows. Help an old dog learn some new tricks.

For personal reasons I couldn't create my own, but I would have loved to gut a PC and kit it out with the correct stuff. I went ahead and got a mrgrowpro ready-built PC grow case with a hydroponics setup for 2 plants, also this case is absoloutely massive! Could easily get 1oz per plant in here, don't have personal pics but you can google mrgrowpro and all the info is on there. I will be making the equivalent of a rubermaid grow box one day as I think they are great too!

Id say go for one indica depending on the size of the tower. If u use a server case you will have alot more room to work with and if you plan everything out correctly it should only take 2 hours. aight, so as promised, some details from my pc build. there was more in the original thread i had made, but it got lost. it took a while to get everything to how i wanted, but i'm happy with it now. it's smaller than most, dimensions are 13 1/4" long x 6 7/8" wide x 13 7/8" tall, but with some lst'ing i've made it work. i need to take a pic of the lady now in the box...

what i started with, crappy emachine tower. all the frame/support structure for the cdrom drives and such i just popped the rivets and they came right out:


first try with lining with windshield reflector...epic fail. got stupid hot in there with the lights.


i forget who gave me the advice (i think it was someone with 'supra' in their sn) but i painted it flat white.


when they were very young...


and when they got a bit older (one turned out to be a guy, which ended up being for the best..since as you can see, room was very limited)


and where she is at now (9wks total; 5wks in 12/12; 23 days since pistils)

wow. thanks for all the responses. I was trying to get on here yesterday but something was up. no idea.

anyway, ive started gutting an ancient IBM ps/2 computer tower. Its fucking huge compared to this new crap we all have now. Shap3less, ill take your advice and paint the inside white. Thanks for the tip and i enjoyed your log book.


and for greengrow.. what makes an indica better for a pc grow? or a pc scrog grow even? I have strong seedlings of both growing right now so state your case. Happy 420 everyone be kind and smoke some too.

ya, it's much, much, much easier than cutting all that crap to fit. just give it a few days to air out. i ran it with my fans cranked for a day or two to help really dry it out and get the fumes out of there. ended up making my room smell like spraypaint..but could be worse i suppose.

i forgot to mention, i used duct tape, super glue and magnets to attach my powerstrip/bulbs to the side of the tower. makes it really easy to adjust the lights. and you can angle the lights to get a more even distribution across a potentially uneven canopy.

as to the indica vs sativa for a pc grow, indica/indica-dominant strains will be shorter and bushier than their sativa relatives. indicas will usually stretch to twice the size, or possibly less, when put into flower...sativas can easily double, if not triple in size. if you're going to do a sativa, 12/12 from seed is probably going to be ideal to keep it short. although if you're doing scrog/lst, you're going to need a longer veg time to benefit fully from either technique. i just happened to end up with an indica dominant strain from my bagseed, and it hasn't really stretched all that much. i'm about 2.5 weeks since pistils, and from what i understand, most of the stretch will take place in the first 3 weeks after flowering. if that's the case, i'm really happy with how tall it ended up being. maximized my space, but don't have to worry about them being too close to the lights

And how is the heat in there with 4 cfls? i was considering a small 70w hps i have laying around or getting an led but i do like cfl for some small grows.

Im planning a soil/scrog/hps setup with one to two indicas. eventually i want to add hydro.

I'll help you w/ the system mate

if you could cram an hps bulb in there, do it. if you could keep the box in a cooler than usual environment (basement/constantly air conditioned room) you could handle the heat much much better

Ill follow through. Its airing out now. All cleaned up and painted going to start on the wiring this week. I think I decided to go with a 150w CFL over then 70w HPS. It will be a single plant indica scrog. The plants has already been started.
