do you think it would be possible to add another strain in my tent or would that be pushing the limit of space? I would like to add either White Fire or Jacky White

If you are growing them like regular trees than i would stick to those 4. I tried to to fit 6 plants under my 400 hps in my closet and had to cut 2 of them down for the greater good of the yeild /harvest. They were covering and overlapping eachother . I trimmed and trimmed but you can only trim so much. Those 4 plants will fill your 3x3 up to the max, I guarantee it.

plus if you have too many plants.overcrowded you are more suceptible to mold. Is this your first grow?

A few pointers, let the soil dry out each time before watering again. Keep a 7-$10 humidity monitor in there to keep a measure of your humidity.
My first grow was the one I explained. At the end I had 4 plants. Huge buds. Thick as fuck and 5 feet tall all under my one 400 watt hps. They were beautiful, But i had to throw them all away...do you know why? They got mold. All because i didnt spend the 10 bucks for a humidity monitor and i watered according to the fox farm directions(which was too much because the soil weasnt drying out in between, it was constantly moist). I ended up getting downy mildew and powdery mildew. It was terrible. Not to mention it made me sick, real sick because my exhaust was exhaust that moldy air into the rest of my house and that was the air i breathed in day after day.

besides the hunidity, I did my reasearch like a motherfucker. Reasearched my ass off....and even still because Of that...I threw a couple thousand dollars worth of bud away because it was moldy...

yea this is my first soil grow. I tried doing the ebb n flo before but I had too many problems balancing the ph in the reservoir that I had to scrap the plants 2 months in. I will definitely purchase a humidity monitor. I had the droopy leaves yesterday probably cause do to overwatering then I transplanted yesterday and today they were looking better. Still sum droop on the first set of leaves

Im looking at adding 2 105w CFL during flower and maybe a 200w CFL also to get max light coverage. I want 4-5 foot plants but I keep reading that my 400w HPS won't cover that much space if what I've been reading is correct.

i like the idea of adding cfl's to supplement your 400. I was thinking of doing that too this time around(to get in the low area that the 400 wont penetrate). And yes you read correctly. The 400 wont penetrate 4-5 ft. My plants were actually taller than they "should" have been. The light should be able to penetrate 2 feet down, which i was told. But yeah 4-5 foot tall plants are good if your using supplemental cfls. I would put those low where the 400 doesnt penetrate. other wise its kinda a waste. When I had my 5 foot plants The bottom third was juststem(from trimming)

Preciate it. What is the average yield or biggest you have got off 400w? How much do you think would be possible with the supplemental lighting added?

As of 12-30-12 these are the heights of my plants:
Note: Red Dragon & Jack were germed 2 days before other strains. Super Sour OG & Chocolope Kush were planted directly in soil.

Jack- 3 1/2"
Red Dragon- 2"
Super Sour OG- 1 1/2"
Chocolope Kush- 2 1/2"

Does anyone know if these are normal heights for my plants under a 400w MH? When will these strains really start to shoot up more? Is the height the way it is because the MH is making tight internodes? Has anyone grown any of these strains and what kind of tips might you have for growing these strains?

Updated pics for the start of the new year. As of 1-1-13 Jack has drooping leaves I suspect overwatering. Watered lightly 12-31-12. Hopefully just not watering will straighten the problem out. 400w MH is also a foot above plants and it doesn't seem to be hot. Red Dragon,Chocolope Kush, & Super Sour OG leaves are all pointing up. I don't know what might have caused this and if it is good or bad but plants seem to be fine compared to the Jack. If anyone has help or advice I am definitely open to it.

Note: sorry I labeled wrong. All the pics labeled Red Dragon are actually Chocolope Kush and vice versa.

Problems should be solved. Added humidifier, fan, and humidity monitor in grow room 1-2-13. Humidity was 30% and now is about 40% and all plants seem to be better. Hopefully plants start to pick up growth. Also changed lighting from 20/4 to 18/6. Added a little water and Rapid Start to Chocolope Kush 1-1-13. And added a little nutes to Jack. Jack leaves were still drooping and twisting and curving in slightly. Anyone know what the cause could be. If problem persists tomorrow I will flush. (Im thinking maybe because of the size of pot Jack is not getting enough or too much nutes and water) Could also been from the temps and low humidity.
