Strain: Barny's Farm Red Dragon
Growth: Indoor- organic soil
Nutes: FoxFarm
Yield: 2-3 Oz per plant @ 3-4 ft
Bag Appeal: Beautiful- a number 1 choice of patients. Crisp lime green with orange hairs.
Smell: Very strong and fruity- like guava fruit.
Taste: Just like it smells
The High: A strong head high followed by a solid kush stone. Lasts for hours.
Avg Flowering Time: 50-55 days
Comments: This is the best strain I've grown. I'm not cloning it anymore but will definitely purchase more seeds for the future. This strain is temperamental and easily over fertilized but if you grow it right it will be the best you've ever grown!

Glad to see a RD report. I have a RD going.

Attitude description said "They arrive almost instantly producing healthy seedlings which gain a rich red color from the very beginning. The mature plants of this cannabis have color of a dragon's skin, white crystals covering 90% of it's body and red hairs like the breath of a dragon."

Did you see any of the red color? Your plant looks good just not like the desciption. Mine is 5 weeks and no red. It had alternating nodes from the start. I am hoping for the dragon skin look.

No, it sure didn't fit the description. I had plants with the characteristics of their mother and different ones with characteristics of their father and plants with characteristics from both parents. The only difference though between them was the way they grew, ie some were all branches and some were all cola. All my RDs produced bright green buds. I'd say they have orange hairs but the longer you flower, the more red the hairs will get. Hope this answers your question :) Happy growing!

It sounded like a cool looking plant and some good smoke so I wanted to give it a grow. We will see how she turns out.

I'd say they get about to be double in size during flowering... mine are around 3 feet now in the 5th week of flowering, and they were about 17" when they started flowering.... check out my Red Dragon grow - the link is in my sig. :leaf:

I'm going to be starting a Red Dragon and I'm trying to decide whether I should top it or not. Have you tried topping this plant? My goal is to keep it kind of short. Any suggestions?

I've done both. If you want it short then do top it. It grows a lot in the flowering room.

Hi, I've just recently discovered Red Dragon Smoke and I LOVE it! I was considering growing it and found a few places online for seeds. I know nothing about growing this stuff; anyone got any tips for a newbie or know a good site that gives detailed instructions on how to grow Red Dragon? Thanks! :bigjoint:

I got some RD right now in week 2 of flowering and plan on doing a SOG style with, I just lollipopped them this past weekend. My question is how are you determining when your ladies our finished? I was going to base it on trichs 50/50, and then flush for a week with AN- Final Phase. What did your trichs look like before starting to flush? I was hoping to chop the girls at the end of week 7 - beginning to late week 8. You say flowering time 50-55 days, after day 50-55 you began to flush? Lastly how much did your cola weight out (dried)? This is my second grow, the other went bad during flowering, but from that experiance Im doing a lot better. Another RD grower was saying his RD are still mostly clear at a lil over week 7 and expect another 2-3 weeks before harvest. Im just trying to get an estimate on when they will be done.

For those coming here for Red Dragon reports and pics, here's some from my RD grow earlier this year...enjoy!

We were extremely impressed with this strain - another great Barney's strain which fails to disappoint! Super nice initial high, euphoric as advertised, followed by a nice long lasting soft buzz...never tasted any guava fruit, but it did have a sweetness to it. Planning to grow this strain out again this fall - already bought more seeds!

That's an awesome grow. Been planning my second grow, trying to figure out what strains to try. I went to Barney's site, plan to get this strain, Red Dragon, plus LSD. Gonna get some Shanti from MOC as well. Was your grow all cfls?
