Red Dragon w/ Pics

Red Dragon used to be my favorite strain to grow but after taking too many clones I must put this strain to rest. This will be my last Red Dragon grow. It is an extremely sweet smelling plant and beautiful. It grows about twice its height in flowering so you only have to veg for like 8 weeks.
I start off with clones taken and dipped into a rooting solution then planted directly into FoxFarm Light Warrior soil in red party cups. I place the cups in a humidity dome and mist 2-3X daily until they show lots of roots.

Next, the clones are transplanted into 1 gal pots using a mixture of equal parts of FoxFarm Light Warrior, FoxFarm Ocean Forrest, and Roots Organics soils. I use FoxFarm nutrients but the ladies do not seem to like the Grow Big so I avoid using it in veg. I fertilize every other watering and feed the ladies with Big Bloom, 2 Tbsp/2Gal PH adjusted water. All water I use is PH adjusted to 6.5. I veg the ladies under 1 400W Metal Halide with T12 fluorescents supplementing. I do not have temp control or CO2 in veg. The light cycle is 18 on 6 off.

In flowering I use 2 X 400W HPS. I do have temperature control and I do use CO2 up until the last 2 weeks of flowering. I live in a very dry climate so I do not need humidity control. Just before I put the ladies into flowering, I transplant into 5 gal pots using equal mixtures of FoxFarm Ocean Forrest, FoxFarm Happy Frog, and Roots Organics soils. My light cycle is 12 on 12 off and I keep the room at about 1500PPM CO2 and around 78 degrees while the lights are on. I let it cool to 65 degrees when the lights are off.
The first 2 weeks of flowering I use 2 Tsp Tiger Bloom, 2 Tsp Big Bloom, and ¼ Tsp Open Sesame to 2 Gal Water. I fertilize every other watering. During weeks 3 and 4 I use 2 Tsp Grow Big, 2 Tsp Tiger Bloom, 2 Tsp Big Bloom, and ¼ Tsp Beastie Bloomz to 2 Gal Water still fertilizing every other watering. The last 4 weeks of flowering I use 2 Tsp Tiger Bloom, 2 Tsp Big Bloom, and ¼ Tsp ChaChing to 2 Gal water - also fertilizing every other watering. I flower the Red Dragon for 8 weeks total before pulling them, flushing, and then setting them in the dark.
The pics I have included are taken on day 52. They are almost ready to enjoy. I would recommend Red Dragon to anyone but it is easily over fertilized and doesn’t stay strong if it is cloned too much. The smell though is intoxicating and smells like fruit. It is sooooooo good.

Impressive.
I've never had Red Dragon, how's the smoke?
Red Dragon is a very intense high. People choose it over other strains because of its visual appeal- light lime green with bright orange hairs. It smells like guava fruit and tastes like it too.
I know I said I wouldn't be growing it anymore but what I meant was I will not be cloning mine anymore. I will purchase more seeds though and do it again :)

Thats a Barney's Farm strain, right? I'm currently growing LSD from Barney's, I was originally going to pick up their Red Diesel but they were out of stock.

I had the pleasure of smoking Red Diesel before I knew how to grow and it was literally one of the best smokes I've ever experienced. Barney's was the only place I could find selling seeds, so I figured their other stock must be good.

Your plant looks fantastic. If they're still out of the Diesel and if the LSD treats me well, I think picking up the Dragon is a no brainer.

Nice post!

the girls look blunterful lol i mean wonderful! in the middle of my first grow now. I have two questions: why did you veg so long? 8 weeks is alot of time.i'm a newbie so excuse my ignorance please. and also can you do a smoke report there has not been one on red dragon yet. Thanks keep up the good work.

Yes, the Red Dragon is from Barney's. I would recommend it over the Red Diesel as it is much more pleasant to smell and be around. The Diesel is pretty intense- if grown right is smells just like diesel fuel- Comparing the two I'd even say the Red Dragon is a better high. Happy growing!

Hi- The reason why I veg so long is to get bigger plants. The bigger the plants- the bigger the buds. The ones in the pics do not grow very much when in flowering, however the other Red Dragons I have do grow about twice their height in flowering so you just have to test it out I guess. Plan on your plants growing a lot when you put them into flowering. Also I will do a smoke report- thanks for asking :) Happy growing!

How long did it take for your clones to show roots?

Red dragon is a great strain. It responds unbelievably to topping. Its flower time is short and is high yielding. However, it is very susceptible to herming from light leaks so be careful!

What are you a parrot? Every post you make has already been made, word for word! Don't you have any ideas of your own???
