Red Spectrum Flowering

I am growing under a couple of 357Magnum LED lights, which have been very successful for the veg period. In fact, its been so successful that Ive maxed out my grow space. It offers the choice of running two spectrums: A blue / green / yellow (which Im pretty sure is primarilyfor the veg period) and a red spectrum (which I believe is supposed to be primarily for the flowering period).

I had been growing them under both spectrums on a 24/0 lighting period, and they blew up.

My question is, can I flower under just the red spectrum? With the grow space so maxed out, Id like to limit the "growth" and concentrate on the "budding" if at all possible. Is anyone schooled or experienced with spectrums? Ive toyed with the idea of running just the red spectrum for flowering, and have heard mixed things - most people saying that I really should run both spectrums in the 12/12 - otherwise the buds wont form to their fullest potential.

Is this true?

you can run mixed spectrums.. or also known as "dual spectrum". Many people use dual spectrum lighting during the flowering phase. I personally have tried it.. but didn't notice any REAL difference between using dual spectrum and using just HPS spectrum during flowering.

It really just comes down to whatever you personally prefer.

I recommend to use MH during veg.. and using HPS during flowering. That's generally what people do.. but like I mentioned a minute ago, it comes down to whatever you personally prefer to use.

peace.

Im using strictly LEDs - two powerful 357 Magnum lights, theyre fantastic. They offer a veg spectrum (blue/green/yellow) and a flowering spectrum (red) at specific and effective wavelengths. I know I can use both in the 12/12 flowering period - thing is, Ive maxed out my growspace and want to concentrate on flowering, not "growing" per say. Can I run just the red wavelength and still get good production?
