reduced light or darkness period before harvest?

the breeders notes for the autos im growing recommends reducing the light period in the final weeks of flowering.

I have plants of different ages under a constant 18/6, so im doing this by removing the plant from the grow room in the evening and retuerning it in the morning. while the lights are on, the spot where the plant sits outside is dim, but not dark (some light filters through a green sheet of materia)l in this way it gets a period of dusk and dawn before total darkness at night.

however, if i give them a period of total darkness, it will still be under these dim light conditions. is there any point in this?

what light conditions to you keep your autos under prior to harvesting?

I would think you give them 24/0 so they get as much light as possible in that little window of flowering to come to it's full potential. If it's not total darkness than it's pointless. Hope this was helpful good luck...

after reading many debates on this subject i decided that after all the work and stress of the grow, why not let them sit in the dark for 48 hours before chopping.
it certainly can't hurt and may actually help. GL
