I know our local hydrodronic store carries it. But it's too expensive for me right now. Do any of you have different ideas on how i can get it cheaper? I have been looking even for silver wrapping paper but havent been able to find any. Is there much difference between using it and not? Have any of you not used it for a batch and then used it for your next batch? Could you notice a big difference?

white paint is a good substitute, flat white not shiny(gloss) and water based because oil based stinks to fuck especially when it gets warm.

Emergency blankets, found in the camping/outdoors section at any Walmart, Meijer, Kmart, or just about any outdoors store. Do not use aluminum foil, it has almost zero reflectivity and can actually cause hot spots which can burn your plants. Or as suggested, flat white paint.

I agree, there's this stuff called Mylar that works pretty good if you have access to it.

Get blazed. Buy 20 bags of Doritos. Eat the chips. Take empty bags, cut them open, use inside as relfection.

ha the cheapest way ive ever seen "and it actually worked" was taking doritos bags or any chip bags and turning them inside out and putting them up lol. You can also find a cheap sun reflector for car winshields and use it too

Dude it's like $12 for a roll of 4x20' mylar in hydroponics stores. How broke are you...

As a substitute I am going to jump on the flat white paint bandwagon. If you don't have paint or the grow space can't be painted for some reason the next best thing would be what was recommended above, the emergency blankets.

Gets my vote. An Emergency Blanket is mylar, just thin. So its harder to work with as it tears, but if you put a small piece of duct-tape on the blanket wherever you are tacking it to the wall. (Nail goes through duct-tape and blanket) Then tearing shouldn't be an issue. Efficacy wise its better then panda film or mirrors.

Yes!! The sun visor idea is awesome. This is actually what I use. At Walmart, in the auto section, you will find cheap sun visors for your car that actually list the word "REFLECT" on the package. They are like $2-3 and even already have little strings for easy wall hanging. I bought 3 and it covered enough space in my grow room for 6 plants....if done properly. Good luck! PeAcE
