Relocating to Michigan (not to become a rich lmao)

My wife just got promoted and we are relocating to the greater Ann Arbor area. I have grown on a large scale in the past here in Florida, but after the birth of our first child four years ago I gave it up because the risk in not worth the reward down here. I suffer from chronic pain from multiple knee surgeries, so I'm excited as a pig in shit that in two months my obsession will be legal. Seriously I've been jerking it to High Times and grow journals for four years lmao.

I just had a few questions if you guys don't mind giving me some insight.

I've heard all it takes to establish residency is to register your vehicle and change your licence, is this true?

I work part time as a server here in Florida, being that Florida is a tourist industry state I know I will probably make less money, but was wondering if anyone works in this service industry, and could give me an idea of what I'm getting into.

any areas of Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, Jackson, Livonia, that we should steer clear of?

Seriously how bad is the weather??? We have spent most of our lives in Florida and Southern California...

I am law student, so I am well versed in the entire Michigan Medical Marihuana act, and the McQueen ruling that will be coming out in the next few months, and the changes that were just made a few days ago. I have four friends who already live in Michigan with their cards, and don't have a caregiver assigned who plan on filing the paperwork assigning me as their caregiver once I am up and running after a few crops. Now they will be living hours away from where we are, so they are purely doing this to allow me to legally grow to the law's full capacity. I'm thinking a SOG style grow harvesting 5 plants every week over a 15 week cycle. Now the McQueen case should be settled before I even see my first harvest, and if it goes the way of okaying patient to patient transfers I shouldn't have any legal worries getting rid of my meds, especially since I will be operating under the FEDS 99 plant threshold.

My concerns are how flooded is the market? Im all for low priced top quality meds (the strains I used to grow down here were Sour Diesel,OG Kush, and Master Kush), but I would at least like to be able to cover the costs of my expensive but rewarding hobby.

Any answers would be greatly appreciated! My family and I are extremely happy to be moving to a State that is far more culturally advanced than Florida, despite the economic climate that wont really effect me since my wife will be making a great salary with one of the best corporations in the country.

the market here varies depending where you source your meds. if you are going on CL it tends to be flooded with utter shit with prices ranging from $175 to $300/oz. Dispensaries on average sell top shelf for $400/oz +/- $50 and even then they may not be that great. you can make a living with 5 patients selling your meds for $200/oz. seems to be the average.

stay away from jackson, have had issues with police there in the past, aa seems pretty progressive same with ypsi. don't go to oakland county is all i can say

Thank you for the quick reply. The only thing is my patients will be my wife who doesn't indulge, and four friends who will be living on the western border. If the McQueen ruling goes the way of not allowing patient to patient. I'll most likely just destroy any excess and do it purely for fun, having kids makes high risk illegal activity very unappealing. Doesn't that just sound horrible though lol

I grew up without a father, huge alcoholic, died of cirrhosis of the liver at 48 ....My kids will never go through the pain that I went through. Like I said Im not doing this to make a profit just to pursue my obsession.

Thanks again for the fast responses! Looks like its AA or Ypsi.

All about who you know. I hear all sorts of #s when it comes to price. I know someone who grows garbage and they somehow get rid of it for 3200 to a dispensary. Then I know people who have similar mid quality meds who have to beg people to take them for 2800. Then I know a guy who grows DANK and gets 4k at a dispensary. It all depends on the quality to be honest. 90% of the stuff I see is weak home grown newbie meds, you can just tell they are over ferted, premature and the room was prolly 95 degrees. So yo answer your question, if you can grow great meds and network properly you can get a good price.

Not worried about getting top dollar, just enough to let people enjoy the fruits of my labor while paying for my expenses. I'll be happy just to get rid of enough to pay for nutes and electric.

I was unaware of the McQueen ruling. What are the experts on here saying? Are they going to ban dispenseries?

But yeah man if you know some people, or even if you dont you can walk into a dispensary and they will usually offer you a price for it if they are in need. prolly $150-250. But this time of year with all the outdoor hitting a lot of people are stocked up so prices have been a little down.

I live in-between Lansing and Detroit in the Livingston County area. Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti are fantastic places to live and you would never have to steer clear of any of those areas including Livonia. Whitmore Lake is another great town in the AA area. Also A2 has the best grow store in all of Michigan imo. The Grow Show.
