Removing rockwool from rooted clones...possible?

I searched the web for answers only found one link and it wasn't a very reliable source. Any help here?

I suppose you could, but why would you want to? Unless you're using a gigantic block of it, it shouldn't get in the way. I've cloned in rock wool and gone to both dirt and hydro without any problem. Just be sure to cover your rock wool or you're bound to have mold problems.

I just give my plants a little shake and a light rub to knock off the loose pieces. If youtry to pull the rockwool of, you'll just rip the roots.

Like HSA said, cover the rockwool, I use hydroton for hydro, you can also use sand for soil.

I wanted to remove the rockwool for my high pressure aero system, due to the fact that rockwool retains to much water for my mist schedule. Thanks for your input

Hpa doesn't require a medium therefore I can't use hydrotron because it will also retain to much moisture.

Have you ever tried to remove rooted clones from rockwool? I read on a page that you need to pull the wool off under water as it will pull apart easier? Anyone care to experiment n let me know it goes

I dont have any problems using rockwool in HPA. If you`re worried, put a decent layer of hydroton on the bottom of netpot to protect the rockwool from any direct mist.

I've never used rockwool, but I gave up on trying to remove starter cubes (spongy material) from clones, as it's pretty easy to rip those tender roots without even realizing it sometimes. I got lucky a couple of times, but killed off my share of cuttings for sure. I was trying for completely medialess in the beginning as well. My frustrations led me to the netcup,

That makes me feel better .. im in the middle of setting up my medical crop that will be all aero.... just got my hydroton and my NETCUPS lol i really wanted to use neoprene inserts ... but fml they are so expensive and it just looks like a bitch to maintain... no i now have 3 inch net pots hydroton and rockwool ... im doing 3- 4 6in tube in a 4ft by 4ft grow tent (EVENTUALLY) currently i have a soiless mix and a clone / mom station.. i needed to get some medication off asap and since i was needing to start moms anyways i figured i would just seed a bunch out an sex them (3 males ) lol i was happy .... they just went to flower lights (12/12) yesterday and already have crystals forming i am going to be doing a post later tonight after everything is turned on ...but i have a question .... i am looking to use those little red misters and i was wanting to put it in high pressure pvc (hard white kind) but i was wondering if i could get away with using poly pipe instead since it is hella cheaper and easier to work with?

6" tubes wont allow space for HPA mist to spread, you`ll need to use more nozzles which makes it harder to avoid soaking the netpots with direct mist.
