whats cause purpple stems on a 40 day old plant it just the top part of the main stem is almost all purple

most commonly, lack of nutrient

mine do it off and on all the time. I to think it has something to do with nutes.

Don't worry as long as your leaves look healthy. Happens to mine all the time and they do fine.

sorry, that was my point. it happens and doesn't seem to hurt any.

Ditto, I stopped worrying about it when it happens.

It can also happen when your temps get to cold

how could you compare it though, if the stems are purple and they are short of nutrient, how could you tell if your buds were coming out a gram less each than what they would have done if they were perfect?

You couldn't compare it

Keep yer nighttime temps a bit higher, i ran 6 Northern lights in low temp at nite and they got the pruple red stems, the ones b4 that i ran a little warmer, and they look regular green all the same seed lot
