Resevoir Temps.????

Hey everyone i am piecing all my set up together, and i was at the hydro store yesterday and picked up a "hydro farms" reservoir temp. guage and heater! i sat it at 68F and when i came home today it was reading 78F im just trying to find out if anyone else monitors this? and if so what is your usual temp.! Thanks for any help guys!:leaf:

Ya mine either one has dashes other is 78-87 or something, I've just been experimenting plugging/unplugging keeping the temps below 70 that's shat I have heard about could cause root rot?

so your saying temps. below 70 can cause root rot??

when i do a res change mine starts at about 62F, and by the end of that week it is around 76f. i have not had problems yet, but i also use h2o2 all the time. i was concerned until talking to a guy who is doing alot better that me and he says he has no problems until they start to get close to 80F. he also uses h2o2. i will say you have to keep a close eye on things like ph after about 72-73f .

ive been monitoring my resevoir temps. and they havent gotten over 72F so that is good!:-P:bigjoint:

frozen bottles will work to keep the temp down is your res, hell ive even read on some hydro grows here people having their temps as low as 55-58 degrees and the plants appeared to love it, something about the cooler the temps oxygen tends to be more plentiful. you'll need to be careful with the frozen bottles, if they touch the plants roots they will go into shock.
