Restoring quartz banger. Devitrification is a BITCH

Anyone have experience restoring quartz? Devitrification is a bitch. I never heat glowing red hot and I dab around 600-700. I buy cheap dhgate and no matter how well I qtip I can never get into the the imperfections in the quartz.

I remove the banger and clean with 2 qtips soaked in 90% iso after every hit so I can't imagine I'm not cleaning the things well enough. The mound of dirty qtips I amass at the end of every day already feels pretty fuckin wastefull lol Has me looking into the drop-in quartz inserts that I could just take out and soak in iso when I'm done.

This is the link I've learned the most from so far. I imagine if I purchased their shit instead of cheap Chinese shit I would be avoiding these problems lol

I have access to polishing equipment but with how hard this shit is i'd rather not fuck with it. I'd rather not spend more than 10 min on $5 quartz. The video below shows a dude polishing his ass off for less than great results imo.

I can get to a sand blaster which I'm very interested in doing but wouldn't frosted glass be kinda like devitrification all over the quartz? I could see how the concentrate might soak in (like ceramic) and vaporize better with the increased surface area but I imagine a frosted banger would be a bitch to clean (like ceramic) and would devitrify much faster leading to more and more sandblasting.

Then there is acid wash which I am most interested in. Acid is cheap and soaking for a few minutes and rinsing is easy enough. I've worked with various acids and bases before and am comfortable with that aspect. What finish does this leave though? I imagine it ruins the clarity of the surface but does it eat in and etch the quartz? If so, is it to a much lesser extent than sand blasting? Is it still smooth and relatively non-porous?

Main questions

1. Is devitrification even an issue? How heavily does it effect flavor or is it just a texturing of the quartz like frosting? I can't imagine it has a flavor or off gasses anything especially at the temps we dab at.

2. Is restoring worth it? Is there a process that takes less than 10 min with worthwhile results? I would love to be able to just soak my devitrified quartz in acid kinda like resin caked glass in iso.

3. Has anyone ever used frosted quartz and what was the flavor like? Was it a bitch to clean? Did you notice increased devitrification?

4. Does anyone have any experience with the acid wash? Are there pictures anywhere of finished product?

Bravo if you made it this far
I'm just seeing bits and pieces of info everywhere but nothing concrete. Would love to hear from somebody with real experience and in a perfect world pictures of results.

:weed: Thanks for your time :bigjoint:
