Hey Matt.. long time no see.. nice harvest mate..

I tried the DWC thing too.. you did a way better job than me..

Not growing now just focusing on school.. just finished exams and got the itch to grow.. great to see you still doing your thing.
hey man, nice to see you around as well :) hope school goes well for ya man it gets tough i know. can always do a simple soil setup while in school...keep things simple.

Maatttaayyyy...

I did the same thing man. I just recently killed my last lady from the ORIGINAL line I started...as radeon. lol. I am BACK TO SOIL TOO BABY! i got a few decent harvests with my dwc setups, but i agree with all sentiments mentioned on this thread, that once you have it down it may be just as easy if not easier than soil, but shit when theres other things going on in your life, its just too tough to maintain all that. a lot of my harvests looked similar to your rhino - the its almost as if it went back and forth between flower and veg - that weird tip on the cola just kept growing, but the rest of the flowers filled out...also had the root slime and spider mite issues. just not as fun and not as proud of the end product. I remember when I first started doing soil and marveling at how easy it was to get really nice lookin ladies. BACK TO THE BASICS. I have 8 sprouted currently, kind of offset from each other, 4 just popped above the soil and a couple are young and very bushy, short internodals, and very spiky cause i keep my basement at 35% rh. i will b starting a new thread soon, just a little logging journal. ive got to sex the 8 lil ones and hopefully get at least one lady. then i will be taking a clone from her and flowering. rinse and repeat - take a clone from a newly growing lady clone in veg and then flower her. one at a time. keep it simple and easy - makes watering easier and repotting when necessary down to a short maintenance window. i pulled almost a qp off one plant before, and if i can get that quality/quantity again off one lady, i will be happy.

i just re-read the radeon threads a few days ago - what a funny thing. reading back through our progress - starting with hydro was like starting all over again. maybe some day when there is more time, but for now stickin with the tried and true. good to see ya again man! keep up the great work!

hey man, long time :) sucks having issues but like i said before working 60+ hours a week i dont have time to maintain a hydro system especially if things start going wrong. plus financial issues dont always leave me with extra cash to buy what i need the moment i need it.

i noticed you said you were going to clone and then clone from clone....i have done this before and from my experience the genetics do seem to get weaker with every generation of clones, if i may suggest either starting from seed each time or just keeping a mother, you will keep nice strong first gen clones....i did the same thing with my fruity chronic, by 5th generation the quality was about the same as far as potency and flavor but the yields and bud structure kept on diminishing with each generation.

just my 2¢

I would say either not enough air or not enough water circulation was your problem. I run a rwdc system with dyna grow also and have never had an issue with root rot. Sorry you didnt have the best of luck with it. It is by far cheaper and more efficient then soil when dialed in ..

yeah your probabally right...my pumps were not the most powerfull so water circ was prob not up to par, between that and not having any time to clean it...either way i think soil is my niche.

got my controller setup and humidifier set up...getting temps up to 75f and humidity up to around 40% not exactly where i want to be but a good improvement from 65f and 15-20%rh

still working out some kinks and will try and get some pics up this weekend...got 6 more beans popped and 2 clones going. also have a carmel ice seedling started that will be a dedicated mother plant. i have a 2ft 4 bulb t5 fixture that i will be using for this and might be putting both my lights into my flower tent and running 2x 600w instead of the 1x 1000w will be able to get my lights a little closer and have better coverage

fighting root rot and spider mites.....about to give up this hydro shit. one last effort though to fix this.

going to start changing rez every week. sucks because its going to cost more overall to replenish nutrients in a 100gal+ system but gotta do what i gotta do.

got some neem oil...going to give that a try
I seen the mites in your firs pics and the root rot sucks too. Good luck getting rid of both. They are relentless problems. I've learned to settle for controlling them. It's been a constant battle.

yeah the mites seem to be under wraps now and the root rot is no longer a issue since im now growing in 50/50 happy frog/pro mix...back to the basics lol. thought i added a temp controller and a humidifier to my grow and seems things are growing a bit faster now that the humidity is around 50% and the temps are 75-80

i have some pics but for some strange reason uploader is not working....

Hey guys, been searching for answers dealing with RDWC. I will be using 2 5gal.buckets for 2 plants and 1 5gal for my control bucket and a 32 gal tote as my rez.tank.
A 250gph mag pump inline.
i read the thread from the start and would like to know,
1)What goes into the reservoir tank (not the control bucket)ph'd water alone or mix the nutrients according to how much gallons of water you use in rez?
2)if use 4 gallons of water in the 2 plant buckets and 4 gallons in your control bucket ,is it 12 gallons of water in your system or should you use a gallon container and fill the system in that way including the amount of water in the PVC.
Any info greatly appreciated.

probabally better off opening a thread in the hydroponics section, if iyou read through my thread you will see i was a miserable failure with my system so not too comfortable giving anyone advice on hydro.

well i think im officially retired now. got busted the other night and now the man has court ordered permission to come into my home and search the premesis. all plants have been ripped up and burned in the fire pit...

my passion for growing and thousands of dollars worth of equipment has got me on to a new project. veggies and herbs!! germinating all sorts of seeds and may put up a grow journal in the regular gardening section.

if i do ill post a link here in case anyone is interested. just a soil grow but will be combining my 2 lights and running side by side 600's under a fairly large grow area. anyways hope everyone who has followed me in the past and current has learned something from my mistakes and sucess,if canabis ever becomes legal in my state i will for sure start growing the herb again as i love its smells, looks and the way it grows overall, a verry versatile plant with lots of potential for advanced growing tek's

anyways everyone stay safe and best of luck with your adventures.

not sure if you care anymore but i think your root rot problem was caused by the orange buckets. I used to have some of those and they always had shit growing in them because they arent actually light proof like the black ones. Also it looked like you had straight up light leaks where the water was being pumped into the buckets on your 8 site setup. Light leaks = shit grows. GL man sorry to hear about getting busted.
