Reusing organic soil???

Ok so I used roots organic green lite soil mixed with an organic autoflower super soil mix for my auto grow. I have been using water pH'ed to 6.5 and occasionally adding some molasses to feed the soil. That is it... Well I did use some plant success fungi also.

So I am thinking for my next grow I might use this same soil. I am growing in 5 gallon pots. I was thinking about adding a cup of worm castings, 10 tablespoons of happy frog all purpose dry fertilizers and maybe a tablespoon or 2 of crushed oyster shells and maybe some rock dust.

Does anyone think this is a bad idea or think it's a good idea? Any suggestions? I just don't see any reason to throw away a perfectly good soil mix I could just reuse. I am strictly growing autos with this soil so I don't need a ton of nutrients. And I'm not adding any salts or synthetic nutrients.

I know of a product called recharge that I haven't researched much but I am thinking it is organic and is pretty much a booster for something like this.

seems legit to me. i re use organic soil for a couple grows. tear out the roots and add a few additives and add any missing soil give a good mix and go again. I also have a garden full of grow dirt so i switch it out after a 4 or 5 uses and replace with the stuff thats been outside in the weather for years.

Yes, keep using the soil.

I think what you're planning should work pretty well.

Did you notice any specific issues, or did you have any problems with your first grow? Or did you have any specific symptoms, like yellowing because you ran out of nitrogen or little brown spots were you ran out of calcium?

Well eventually I want to build a nice raised bed garden outside... So I can put my used soil in the raised beds... But for now I just don't see any good reason to use new soil every grow. I am only growing autos and lots of people make their own soil. I guess I don't see much of a difference between building your own soil and what I want to do.

I agree, no need for fresh soil. I've been reamending and reusing for years.

And there probably isn't a huge difference between using a good soil for your base vs building your own (unless you're a die hard DIY guy, or usings tons of dirt). Roots Organic is good stuff with good ingredients, I don't even have pumice in my home made mix.

Also there are lots of effective, easy to use, cheap all in one dry fertilizers, like Happy Frog that are way easier than tracking down 10 different meals/thanks/minerals.

I hope this style catches on and can people stop messing around with "bottled organics."

At week 3 I pulled a couple of leaves off each plant due to thrips. But since then I have done nothing to stop more thrips and have seen nothing. It's been over a week. Almost 2 weeks. Thanks for the input. When I run out of happy frog I may switch to Dr. Earth because I have a home Depot 5 min away but is about 90 minutes to the closest hydro store. If I need more dirt I'll get good stuff from the hydro store though.
