Hello to the people that decided to grow veggies and non-mood entrancing plants

This Year I am starting off with Hot Peppers, Eggplants, & Cherry Tomatoes I will most likely grow other things as the year goes by but thats just what i have in my nursery right now. My nursery is a ghetto hand built hydro setup that i cant use for MJ right now because of certain roommates, but anyway.

Let me know what you guys think

This is Week 3 from seeds

Looking good. What kind of peppers are you growing?
Well i had Bhut Jolokia's but they died in a freak hydro accident. My rez froze. so i pulled the plug on them. All the peppers i the pictures are jalapenos. i didn't have much of a choice from my local store

looking good man, around what time do you put your plants outside for good?

where i live is still a little cold. i will be putting out the tomatoes pretty soon. Tomatoes are really hard and can handle the cold well, but eggplants and peppers need warm nights before i can put them out.

Just given them some real sun so they harden up a bit before i decide to permantly move to the garden. I still need to add a bunch of stuff to the soil i just tilled it. its very high in clay but the soil is loose and fluffy.

i put my tomatoes out last year about a week to early and it down poured hard and after that they caught blight.

the plants are looking good to man, and ya the soil looks a bit lumpy, black gold makes really good organic dirt for really cheap, you should think about getting some peat moss to loosen that dirt up.

those are great looking starts man, i hope mine turn out as good as yours.
looks like they are wanting to be in bigger homes soon to. do you plan on just putting the jiffy pots in the ground
when you plant

well i like to take the jiffy pots off completely it impedes growth. i have done a side-by-side experiment and when winter came and killed the plants i pulled them up. found that the plant with the jiffy-pot only had stragglers coming out of the pot. the other plant was a giant root mass.

before you take them off I soaked the hell outa them to make them mushhie. slowwly pull the pieces of and the roots should slid right thru the pot without damage.

thanks for that bit of info, i never used those pots but i almost bought some, it says it allows root growth so you can plant the pot to, but after what you say and since you have dona side by side i will not plant the pot if i ever do use them.

i ended up getting the 4 inch square pots cuz they were only 10 cents each compared to the 6 jiffy pots that size for 5 bucks. but i would like to use them. im sure they allow more air to the roots as well.

oh and when you say 6 more days does that mean 6 more days till you put them outside i the ground?

haha i guess that could mean anything, but i meant 6 more days of growth since that last update

I think they are 1 month from seed this Monday so about (3 weeks from sprout) you may not able to see all the cfls but there are 200 watts crammed in there

well I just had my first 70F degree day today so i will most likely plant the tomatoes some time next week. my weather fluctuates a lot. the rest of this week will be 50's. i still need to by some compost and peat for my bed ,but i have been to busy at work. The tomatoes are over preforming my expectations and will need to get bigger containers or planted out side very soon.

Wow your rep just gave me 40 points

i was gonna rep back but i cant
ah ok i get you on the 6 now.

where do you live that you can put outside right now, i dont put my tomatoes out till early or mid may depending on weather conditions.
and i am also starting mine under 200 watts of cfl, but it is just one bulb, i really need a reflector but the cheapest one is like 40 bucks and i dont want to buy it really.

and dont worry about not repping me
