just wondering if there was a right or wrong time to switch plants from 18/6 to 12/12? i no its different because of room issues for some people but is there a right or wrong time i thought it best after pre flowering? or are the only plants to get preflowers are auto flowering and normal plants only show preflowers once switched to 12/12 hopefully someone will reply... :P

or maybe it's jsut a silly question, that is asked 50,000 times, tat people can't be fooked to answer it

you can flower your plants whenever you feel like. there is no date, sign, smell, that dictates flwoering time. you can do it whenever (and if i come off grumpy i just got laid off so angry patrolling the boards! :D)

usually you look for signs of maturity in the plant like alternating nodes, pre flowers are also a sign of maturity but switching earlier than when you see pre flowers will cause them to produce pre flowers

change shape? all my plants look like, umm, normal weed palnts, except that buds are now forming? no change in shape that i've ever picked up on. i know the top cola goes a bit different once it's grow to it's full heights and starts focussing on the bud, but no, not sure what you're on about there

i mean the like erm hard to really explain but i have been reading a grow bible and it says the shape of plant changes from veg to flowering as in the main stem goes all zigzag in flowering and in veg its straight up?

zig zag? the buds on the stems kind of grow on opposit sides, possbily in a zigzag shape, but my plants stay pretty much the same shape

basically instead of the fan leaves growing out directly across from each other one will grow then a little farther up another will grow off the other side. once this starts happening and you see pre flowers its safe to say you plant has reached a maturity at which it will flower quite easily once the light period is decreased. You can however induce flowering sooner than this as someone else stated it will just tack longer to show flowers and end result will be less yield than would have been possible had you waited longer.

i laughed so hard but ye u have answerd my question to the besfor post and thank you very much for helping me n thankyou for your comments on my picture :P
Its alright I understood what you ment the longer your plant is in veg for the larger your yield will be but if its 2ft tall in veg expect it to be close to or taller that 4ft when its done.

and heres what I think you were trying to depict right?
