I've never really understood why people get so up in arms about endangered species, unless they're vital to the ecosystem such as bees. If bees go, we're all fucked. But a rhino, bird, or orangutan? I guess they are fun to look at every few years, but people become so distraught when they are facing extinction. Perhaps they'd take it better if they realized that 99%+ of all species that has ever existed on the planet are now extinct, and that nature did this all time even before humans came along. It is simply a necessary part of evolution...
