looking for deals on ro kits anything under 100 dollars for about 40 gallons a week. any help would be appreciated.

Be careful; you get what you pay for. I did some research and found that the cheaper units are such because you need to spend more on consumables - filters - there are 2, 3 or 4 kinds of them, depending on which unit you get. Plus, the cheaper units are only 2 or 3 stage instead of 4, so you will have to settle for "almost" RO water. I just bought the best value unit I could find from Lowes, an excellent full-featured Westinghouse unit for #146.

Growonix or even Hyrdologic I think are still overpriced. They work well but there are many options that work better and are cheaper. Imo, anything from the store is overpriced too. I use a 5 stage RO/DI system for 0ppm water from purelyH20.com. They custom make it and use the best membranes available (Filmtec). Bulkreefsupply.com, thefilterguys.biz, and purelyh20.com are all experts in water purification and are SO much cheaper. Not to mention the ones you get from these guys last for up to 25,000 gallons vs only 1000 that you get from the lowes and home depot junk. Less filters equals less money. You do the math. Check my sig, I have a pic of my Ro/di unit I bought from these guys. I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!

Also watch this video on how to select an RO system. (yes, he says its for tanks but we use ro water also)

Good bid. But the reason I think the growonix is better an a few other brands too. Is there 2:1 that's 2 gallons waste to 1 gallon ro. I don't worry about the 8ppm I get so no need for the di filter. And 30 bucks it's easy to change filters every 45-60 days. I have 2 other units in my house that we use to drink. My water sucks. And going thru less then 100 gallons a month I change them once a year.

I make drinking water too haha. These things kill like 5 birds with 1 stone. Too be honest I don't use my DI resin right now either. I mainly was just concerned about chlorine and chloramine and then down the road I decided to get an entire RO system. I don't mind the 3:1 ratio for mine as I just use the waste water to wash my clothes and water outside plants. I think no matter what RO system you get it will work. It's just all on how much you want to spend I guess.

I highly recommend Purewaterclub.com also. Great selection to cover all your needs, some of the lowest prices on the net. I have had mine for more than 2 years and still pull 0 ppm water no issue.

picked a portable RO system on EBAY for about $100 (slightly over with shipping) it was rated for 150 Gallons per day which still is pretty slow.
8 minutes a gallon. Its more than what I need for myself and it was extremely easy to set up. It was a 4 stage unit that sits on the counter top.
works great for me.
Good luck
