RO Water?

What's going on everyone? I'm looking to change over to RO water just because it's cheaper than buying purified water from the store. I can get 5 gallons for $1.50 rather than $1 a gallon. Anyway, what are the pro's and con's of RO H2O? Do I need to add anything, or just continue with the same nutes as always. Thanks for the feed back.:eyesmoke:

Mostly what you miss out on with RO is calcium and magnesium, and various other trace minerals. As long as you use nutes (and/or additional supplements) that have trace minerals (like calcium and magnesium, iron, etc.) you should be set. I've been using RO and Flora Nova 1-part for bloom and have had no deficieny issues so far. Do a search for deficiencies - find out all the minerals you "could" be missing, and make sure they are in your nutes / additives.

I would also look for cheaper RO. Where I get mine, if you pay $20 up front, you get a punch card for 140 gallons. 14 cents a gallon - and comes out 1ppm.

Most tap water is fine. Mine is PH 6.7 and the water doesn't even show up on my truncheon. Once you age it its fine. I have been growing pounds from tap water for years. Fuck paying for it.

If you don't want an RO system try finding a place that refills your empties. A place near me is $1.50 per 5 gals of water. Still have to cart it to and fro, but you're doing that already.

Mine is shit. EC is0.8, pH7.5+ I buy it [RO] for $.37 a gallon around here, I use Cal-Mag (botnicare) at 1tsp/gal. I didnt use it at first but after my WhiteWidow went threw all of it in my soil it started to show sever cal deficiency about 3 weeks into flowering and I already had the Cal-Mag so in soon as I started using it it stopped getting worse.

RO is Reverse Osmosis. From what I hear it is the cleanest water around. I'm using purified water now and doing fine, but I was just wondering if it was worth the time to go fill up the gallons and what I needed to get as far as more nutes for it. bongsmilie
