I'm starting my second grow, it's been about 2 1/2yrs. Just a quick bagseed grow for an outdoor grow. Anyway I got two bags of Robbin hood potting soil from lowes and mixed a bag in each paint bucket with 3tbls of osmocote fertilizer in each bucket. Has anyone used Robbin hood potting soil? It didn't say it had any nutrience in it. It has perlite, Pete moss & composted bark in it

I only mean to be helpful...Why not research here or in a respected publication by, perhaps, Jorge Cervantes or Mel Frank on what a general soil formulation for marijuana might be...You have already mixed up a batch of something or other wishing and hoping that someone here will tell you it might be just fine...You are at the beginning...Why not get it right from the get go??? Now...So you don't have fix it headaches down the road...Are you looking for a mix whereby you just add water for the duration of the grow??? If so checkout SubCools Super Soil Mix...Good Luck...FWIW

By the way...Outdoor in a 5 gal paint bucket, hopefully not a black paint bucket, (solar heat build-up) can be a great technique if you have large drain holes (one inch diameter) at the bottom sides for the roots to grow through; dig a hole about three feet square, six inches deep, amend the soil, drench around the bucket with Miracle Grow Tomato Fert solution (half strength) once per week after setting, water again in between weekly feedings, plant the bucket in the middle about four/five inches deep. About as simple as it gets if you start out right...Again...FWIW

I wouldn't smoke that soil, or any for that matter.

Oh my bad, I thought I was in the "Smoke Report" section of the board...

Smoke the soil, skip the middle man?

So, what's the report? How was the dirt? A bit earthy?? Lol
