Rockwool depth?

Thinking of doing a Deep water culture system and really the only question i have is once the plants sprout in the rockwool i know you put it in a netpot with hydroton or something similar. How deep do you put the rockwool? Should it just be touching the water? Halfway submered? What?



Any answers would be great. Strain Suggestions?

mine are about half submerged.

first i put one layer of hydroton in my 4" net pots, then put the rockwool in over that.then i just cover with more hydoton.
