the method i use is, once my seeds have popped (if i didnt start them in rockwool) i put them i in the rockwool cube (tap root facing down) and the cube in a small dish under a fluro (20 hours light per day) with about 1/4inch of water in it... as it dries out every day, each evening it gets a wee bit of water
and blammo, spoutlings.. then when the roots come out the bottom, its time for a pot and soil, i use 4inch pots first off... soil is 50% perlite and 50%.. and leave about 1/4 inch of the cube sticking out the soil... no fertiliser/nutes.. easy

I used to peel off the rockwool, real easy with young plants, but lately I just drop the cube right on top of the soil, maybe bury half water through the cube till it fully roots, works Great.

I dont like to bury the rockwool too deep because once they root into the soil I water the soil and let the rockwool dry out, moist rockwool just grows algae way too easy.

I cover the rockwool cube with soil, then no light means no algea. Works for me.

Of course you want light, I put my seedlings under Fluorecents on 24hr light, then 18/6 once they sprout

I assume if you clone using rockwool it is also safe to drop them into soil after as well?

has anyone tired seeds/clones in the jiffy pots?
