Rooftop?

I've got my seeds germinating and they'll be ready to plant in 2 days. I'm thinking about planting them in small cups first because if I put them straight into the ground, it will be harder for me to sneak out and monitor them everyday. But, I have parents to worry about and I don't really have a light with enough wattage to grow the babies.

So, could I set my plants on the roof during the day to get light and water them accordingly? Or would this be too much light? Not enough? Or would you recommend I just put them straight in the ground and let them go?

The roof can get hot. Some times to hot. Can you leave them in cup's and hide them in some tall grass or along a bush line some where? That would be better.

Probably could do that. Should I leave them there all night or bring them in? What light/night ratio do babies need?

Okay. Say I left them outside from 6 am to 8 or 9 pm (whenever it gets dark.)

Could I use just a regular lamp with a 60 - 100 Watt bulb for the rest of the 4 hours? Or is that too little light to even bother with?

If I was you I would just leave them outside all night. I would say 18/6 is better for them but it would be too hard to bring them in everynight and put them outside every day. A lot of people have there plants under lights 24 hours everyday for the first few weeks before going to 12/12.

just leave them outside and let mothernature do her job. you just need to check for pest and water when needed.

My only concern with that is its still hit and miss with the weather here in Ohio so it could drop below 38 degrees F easily. That would damage my plant right?

To NO GROW - do you mean in small cups just leave them out or go straight into the ground with my germinated seedlings?

well I'm not far from ohio so I know what you mean. It was real nice for like a month then it just got freezing cold again. Its supposed to be warming back up so bring them in at night till it warms back up then put them in the ground were they will get some good light.Leave them in the cup til they get stonger and grow a descent root system.

Okay cool. When I bring them in, should i put a lamp on them? I don't have anything near what you'd need for a big grow but I have a few lamps and some higher watt bulbs. I'll probably have 4 plants. Maybe 5 but I doubt it.

I had a friend last year took his plant in doors every night to keep it from being stollen.

He used a 5 gal bucket and it turned out like shit. Low yield low potency.

Wastes of time the way he did it. Maybe someone else would know how.

I'm not saying everyday until they bud...just until they are ready for a transplant with a root system and what not.
