Room smell

Hi guys. Im planning a grow with 3 plants, white widow, cotton candy and a random bagseed. Im going to lst these in a circle to keep the height very small, going to be using a 250w MH. The only problem is the smell. Its going to be in a bedroom, and the plants cannot smell like even a metre away. Im going to make a carbon filter and put it right next to the plants. There is no exhaust so it will just be like a air scrubbing system. Will this keep the smell under control once the plants flower or what else will I need to do to remove the smell.

Nope, will not help. The only way to keep the smell down without exhaust and Carbon filter will be lots of room deodorizers.

No there will be a carbon filter, but as it is not attached to exhaust it will simply circulate the air in the room and scrub that air. Will that be enough?

In theory its sounds logical, but I still don't believe it will help at all. The only way to know is to test it with something else that stinks like a couple plants will.

A carbon filter on an open circuit will help a lot. However a carbon filter on a compartmented circuit (get or rig a tent!) will be the safer bet. That smell can be treasonous.

So will the actual bedrooom stink of the plants? If a tent will help then its not muc hassle to rig one up but it does need to be a stealtg grow and a tent is a bit obvious. In grow rooms is the smell of cannabis very strong do you find? Or does the use of a carbon filter eliminate some odour?

in the fall while hunting, ive smelled grows from a few hundred feet away.

id tent it and double scrub with a fan filter combo on the inside of the tent and another inside the room the tent is in. but then im sure we will have noise issues now wont we.

round and round we go

I think you will be just fine. When I first started I ran 1x600w with a home made filter in my extra bedroom. No one ever knew a thing. My grow room now is 12x18 with a fan sitting on top of a 4' filter. There's no exhaust, it's a sealed room that I built in my garage. There is no smell when you walk into the garage and very little inside the box itself. The fan/scrubber runs 24/7. I've been doing this for 6 years with no smell inside or outside the house ever. I go wander around outside frequently just to check. Not a whiff.
While it's true three plants will generate considerable stink, a properly sized fan filter combo will easily keep it under control. A 6" Vortex on a matched Phresh or Mountain Air will do the trick. The fan exhaust sound is easily controlled with a DIY silencer and you can use an 18 gal. Rubbermaid tub filled with an old comforter to encase the fan itself. There are plenty of threads on this board detailing how to build these things.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for that, hopefully i can now grow in peace. Lost the cotton candy seed, the tiny bugger, so just 2 plants to deal with now. Thanks all for the help.
