Root Booster

What does everybody do to get strong roots?

The guy at my local hydro shop recommended this stuff

Has anybody used or even heard of it? He said it's powerful and he looked like a wise old asian man, so I didn't argue.

I'm just concerned about getting nutrient burn. It's rated 5-15-5 and the directions said 60ml per gallon which seems like a lot!

Are you going to clone??? I know This is NOT the answer your looking for but soil with great drainage is key for nice roots..

No I just grow from seed.

I'm also using coco not soil so it's probably less likely to get nutrient burn.

Yes it is the answer because when one starts with a good root system there is no need for all those root stimulators and what nots root enhancers or what ever.

That's exactly what I thought! haha I only used like 35 ml though. It seems all good.

Does anybody use root boosters?

I stand redirected... Lol I think.. Just couldn't answer the snake oil part..never use it... Don't have too.

Instead of bragging about your strong roots and how you dont need boosters, y'all could help a brother out lol

It was answered in post #3 i believe. Start your girls in something smaller size pot, grow that root ball to full potential, then pot up to other pot with a great rootball.

So root-bound is a good thing then?

Just get your roots to full potential in something smaller then pot up!!!!!!!! Not sure what you mean by pot bound a good thing.

Voodoo Juice, defoliating fan leafs, and flushing = same thing!!!!!!!!!! Will all just get one super great roots!!!!!

Use some fulvic acid when you water and it will happen. Fulvic acid can potentially make a huge root mass = vigorous growth= more product of better quality. Check out Huminova fulvic acid. For the amount it makes its cheap. Top row of plants with fulvic, bottom without. You do the math. Hope it helps

you can use any nutrient you want do they really work that's another question . want strong roots my advice run 18/6 and keep the temps below 75f this will make those roots grow nicely and have a fan blowing on the plants 24/7 not super hard mild . this grows nice big roots fill a 5 or 10 gallon pot .

What does a fan have to do with the root zone ? They like blow jobs ?

I've seen a very good side by side vid from a company who show off the root enhancers etc etc vs using nothing. While the root enhanced plant did see early accelerated growth and mass the normal plant actually caught up in visible root mass right at the end, where the video was conveniently cut off.

So from that it would seem root enhancers allow you to fill out a pot a little quicker (by maybe a few days to a week?) and then transplant and get into real veg sooner. That is assuming you know when the optimal time to transplant is and not waste more time in a smaller pot allowing the other plant to catch up.
