Root bound ?

Hey , I was attemting my first DWC and it all went well until the flowering stage where basically nothing has happened for a month. No new growth but still looking healthy on top , and white roots on the bottom. Ive been thinking why it's not flowering when the setup is the best ive ever done with a plant.

Ive come to the conclusion that the roots in the small res that i was using have become rootbound ( they are just a mass of roots all squished togeather. Ive seperated them out now and put the plant in a more typical bucket res and they are sitting more freely dangling in the water , before this tehey were more or less just all floating on top. That has got to be a bad thing right? The air stones would be doing not much if the majority of the roots are all clumped togeather. Should it start to flower now? Its had pre flowers come and go for weeks , but nothing has progressed and it's been driving me nuts.

the more room for roots the better, however my plants are rooting in a 4'' pvc and they fill the tube but never cause any problems..if your plant was saverly stressed it may take a week or two to go back to growth..really cant tell whats ur problem without showing us what it is, anyways if u feel u resolved the problem and the roots are doing well now just give it time to go back to budding..rootbound normally would show problems on the entire plant if not caught early so if your topps are still nice and green it may not be the problem or u caught it fairly quick..rootbound plants have stunted growth and can no longer take up any nutrients, i think,, im not really smart when it comes to root bound as its never happened to me and i grow DWC also..ive had roots so crowded in the res and yet never had a problem, i thought rootbound was more for growing in buckets to small for the plant..in hydro as long as the water is airated, ph balanced good nutes and covering your roots you shouldnt have a problem..i have literally had resevoirs filled with more roots than water,,if you understand and have never been rootbound in dwc..sorry if i cant be of more help. growers unite..
