So I have always been growing in plastic pots, but have been reading so much on rooting pruning through chemical applications on the pot, air pruning, smart pots, and others.

Does it make a big difference for you? Have you ever tried a side by side test? I'm going to start using the smart pots anyways because I need some bigger pots, but would love to get some advice or see what others are using.

I have grown tomatoes in air pots and It did make a difference for them. I have never tried chemical applications. My mothers I manually cut back the roots every year with great success.

You dont have much to lose by trying thee air pots. They will not hurt your plants. MJ likes very very aerated soil.

Yep I just order my Smart Pots in the 20 gallon size. I figure that way I can use them as 10-15 gallons if need and just roll the edges over and not fill them all the way up.
