Hi, I am a grower in China, sorry my English is bad, I know marijuana is not very popular here, but I just love it, and this is my first post.

Problem: I am suffering the problem of root rot, every time I changed the water, my root was going to rot.

Mistakes I have found since now: 1. Light penetrate the tank slightly, 2. I full the tank when first time changing water, but second time I half the tank, root rotted still. So sad.

Here are some pictures for you to laugh about:

Fertilizer: Canna Aqua production line, which includes[Aqua vega A&B, RHIZOTONIC, CANNAZYM, CANNABOOST], and now I think it is a bad brand and I am going to use Advanced Nutrients for the next time, because I have hope on 'Voodoo juice'; Many experts had their huge amazing root balls with 'Voodoo juice', according to youTube videos. I think I need Bacteria, a lot of Beneficial Bacterias.

Seeds: Freebies from Nirvana, its were for test, so I used the freebies;

Temperature: air 20-25, water 20;

Water: Material Water with 35 PPM;

Air Pump: huge ones, 8W*2, kind of expensive;

Water Tank: 20 Liters for three plants;

Light: 250W HID;

Now, they are samples already which mention me root will be easily infected. I am going to say' Poor guys, Sorry for my ignorance. ' to these plants.

i'm not sure whats available to you where you are. you could use something like hydroguard or dutchmasters zone master, which i believe are beneficial benes to out compete any pathogens in your res.
i don't do dwc, but i run hempy pots, and i run them sterile, i use 10 ml of 3% hydrogen peroxide per gallon of water twice a week, keeps everything sterile, nice white roots. you can do the same thing with chlorine, but to me h2o2 seems less stressful to the plants.
the bene route is doable, but it seems to me that if you're creating a good environment for good benes, you're creating a good environemnt for bad microbes. i'd rather just kill em all and let amoeba god sort em out

no, not a bad name at all, just what it made me think of
You must be a fan of movies, shake hands, Indeed, I recall Vincent in 'pulp fiction’, the painter Vincent van Gogh, Vincent in 'God father 3', the detective Vincent in ‘Heat’, they are my favorite characters and persons.

if you grow in containers that will pass light to the inside, you will have algae growing in the water. maybe this is the root rot you have. algae can have different colors, like green or brown, or no color to speak of. you have to use containers for plants in hydro that will not pass light and must be completely dark on the inside when the lid is on. there are products available to treat water to reduce this effect, but it's best to use the right kind of container. from your pictures it kind of looks like you are using the wrong kind of container.

Thank you very very much for your advices, now I know two ways to shoot root rot, First, sterile, Second, beneficial bacterias. besides, this is my first time hearing about Hempy Pots, I did a research a minutes ago, It seems a great way, and best wish to you for happy grow!!!

Thanks you very very much!! I will improve this container with aluminized paper and make a completely dark environment next time. Am I right to grow 3 plants in one container, or should I grow them individually?

depends on how big you plan to let them get, you can put as many in a container as you want, but the more you put in, the smaller they have to be
