Root Sprouted the Initial Two Leaves

So a seed cracked and pretty much in eighteen hours, while in total darkness sprouted to little green leaves. I put it in soil. But the root curved with the leaves almost so that its hard to get the root without putting one of the leaves in the soil!

Should I do that or what?

just get as much of the root in the soil as possible. then mist the dirt off of the leaves when they grow past soil level
