Rooting Troubles...HELP ME!

I have 7 plants of white widow about 4 1/2 ft. tall under a 1000w metale halide looking beatimus...took thirty clones off them about two months ago. I put them under a spot grow light like a did before with some Arizona strain and they wouldn't take root. So a friend of mine helped me the second time and we took thirty more about one month ago put them under the 1000w metal halide with the rest turned the light up 24hrs with the 7 still in the room with them(would've been a beatiful screen saver...)...but they didn't root then either. So tried something new, went to wal-mart got the foil pan with raised plastic lid(like you'd cook a turkey in). Took thirty more clones in peatmoss ten count trays. Put them out in open basement 75 degree temps and what appeared to be good moisture levels inside the dome. 5 days later took off top and I have mold growing on bottom of trays. Small amount though! Are these clones gonna die on me too, and what do I do next time to prevent that?...

They might die.. Clones like moisture but they needfresh air too, thats why ther moldy.. if the whole clones moldy they won't make it.. if its a couple leaves the'll make it.. Eventually.. Next time buy a humidome that has vents at the top, and open them up halfway keep the misted and warm.. And you should get roots if done in conjunction with a rooting hormone..

I just saw your other thread.. Your clones look pretty good.. Just let them get fresh air and they will be perfectly fine.. Maybe cut some holes in the top of your DIY Humidome

1000w is far too much light for clones!!! also i would recommend not using 24/0 if thats the case since the clone will root faster with dark hours since it produces more hormones needed for rooting at the point.
Taking cuttings under water is something i've heard about but i never really tried since i never had any issues. !!!Make sure to cut the clones is 45degree angle!!! This will make it harder for air bubbles to rise inside the stem and thus hidering the clone to root.
After you take a cut IMMEDIATLY put the cut end in a glas/cup of water!! It can also be good to dip the whole cutting in water so thats it's compleatly soaked.
have you checked the PH of the water you have so that its in the right zone? what medium do you use?
u can also take a paper, put in on top of a light proof container(cofeemug?) make a small hole and insert the clone there. afterwards putting it in a window and some water foiling should do the trick. small plastic bags can be put around the container for the first days too maintain humidity(remember cuttings prefers almost 100% humidity the first few days!)

After taking your clones, just take them out the container of water you used and lant them in soil and give 7-14 days.

Personally, i would throw out any genetics who wouldnt clone in 14 days at call it weak but well.. im very picky with my genetics :). Altho there are some strains around who are VERY hard to maintain in all ways such as the red dragon but can become the best smoke you can imagine if done right its still something i would recommand for a professional grower only with at least 20+ projects.

Hope this helps

I have always used 24/0..Olivias cloning gel..t5's...humidity dome-rockwool..get 99.9% success rate and most strains have roots in under ten days.

The only mold is a few fuzzy spurs on the outside of the trays toward the bottom of only tray, no mold on leaves or soil
