Wow all of this talk makes me kind of sick.....I have grown many of plants in miracle grow soil for roses from walmarts....and grew bad ass plants. As far as nutes go I used fish emulsion with water for veg... and a bloom booster for flower. Sometimes I think people try to to damn hard to tweak every little thing. Its a frickin plant water the fuckin thing the right way and it will grow....lol. any soil will drain right if you have holes in the bottom of the pots. Quit tryin to be rocket scientists and chemical engineers we are all potheads for pete sake....BTW I do use RO line of nutrients with the same wal mart soil and I have never had a problem.....one smart thing was said on here and that is brew teas....I SWEAR BY THEM....HaPpY GrOwInG farmers!!!

No, "any soil" will not "drain right" with holes in the pots. Soil structure is something that should be focused on heavily.

Funny I grow quite abit and am having none of the soil issues ya'll have. So when you grow outside in the soil do you digg a hole and fill it with all these fancy soils....All i am saying is its what is in the soil that makes it grow not the name brand of it. Foxfarm, RO, MG whatever I have no drainage issues and I have grwon for years soooooo....I am not starting an arguement I am stating facts....you continue spend over 30 bucks for all that and i'll stick to my 5 bucks a bag and accomplish just as much as you do

Who said I have issues with my soil? Who said I spend $30 on soil? I generally make my own, but by all means keep talking.

First you said, "Good post. I'm using RO soil and love the stuff. I amend it with perlite, humus, casings, guano, perlite, azomite, mykos, trich's, dolomite, and a few other goodies. I have excellent results with it, better than I ever got using Fox Farm soils. I think the OP is underfeeding from the sounds of it."

Then YOU said this:
I know, I know. I've done it before, but it's a lot more work breaking up the bales, soaking and breaking up the coco, and then there's yet more amendments I'd have to buy. I started only adding a few extra's, and have slowly added more, and more... You see where I'm going with this, though I will probably eventually start mixing from scratch again. I get fairly good prices on roots soil from my hydro guy, but I buy 12 bags at a time. Also, there's a local place that sells Ocean Forest for $12/bag but I'm getting away from that product.
Seems to me you dont know what the fuck your talking about.....so you sir by all means keep talking because you sound ridiculous everything you mentioned in these posts are in my soil I buy for 5 bucks a bag thats all I am saying no need to tweak so much. As far you not spending over $30 your wrong again and again sound like an idiot....there is no way you are not over 30 buck with all of your so called ingredients......retard.....nice try just note you are the best in your mind that is all matters....peace

Just as a side note.....your hydro guy runs a business in which he makes money and good for him for that, however would he make money off of you if he told you you didn't need all of that shit.....hmmmm.

oh yeah $14 (for RO soil) x 12bags = more than 30 bucks......ooooops my 15 bags x 5 bucks = 64.80 with tax...way less than you

YOU were saying what again? Because I bet my weed somkes just like yours does.....one inhale at a time...but I bet you have me beat there too right!!!

Hey Papa, how's about you troll yourself somewhere else, OK? You're simply stirring things up looking for an argument. Very uncool.

I said I generally make my own. Not sure why I'm even responding here, but if it matters I was short on time when starting my last flower cycle so I used Roots as a base soil, which I do when I don't have time to mix and cook a batch. Anything else?

Wolverine, I wouldn't waste your breath. You have no need to defend yourself from stupid posters. The argument and bickering is his goal, so why feed into it?

I tried rainbow mix, brewed tea with it, however i over did it on the humic acid and had to flush before any burning could take place, then i was suffering from over watering sympoms for 3 days. im using 12 gal pots and once it was saturated the roots were no longer breathing. I may try it again, but cut 50/50 with coco.. ive always had great luck with happy frog/ocean forrest and half coco.
Hello there fellow rainbox mix turn it to tea user. good stuff man. As you and i should know... they're missing out.

remember... well actually i've been told to make it 1 part tea to 5 part water...
but i just make it 1 cup of tea per gal.

How is that plushberry treatjng you? I am finishing up my first run soon. 3 very different plants. One amazimg sq dom. One amazing bcs dom, but it is starting to push some nanners. And a hybrid. Its not as nice as the others. The bcs dominant is huge and had a double coat of resin. The SQ dom is shorter but has insane colas and a triple coat of resin. one of the most amazing plants ive seen.
