6-16-10 (day eighteen) - each plant is currently pushing out their 6th leaf set. except for the mystery white, that has 5. Average height of the plants from the soil (excluding the mystery white) is 3.2".....Yup, you saw that right. The shortest one is a mere 2 inches tall, and it is pushing out it's 6th leaf set... I still have not transplanted or LST'd a single thing.... Things are just so short...how can I....

transplanted the mystery white and one blackjack into the final pots... Tried to LST the white, but it was just not cooperating (yes I did just water)... I think the MH overall caused such tight node structure...that I now think if you plan to LST, you should be using straight HPS.....anyone?

6-17-10 (Day 19) - Transplanted remaining plants into their final pots. Began to LST mystery white strain, successfully.... Mystery white seems to have adjusted nicely to the first step of LST (pics to come)...almost immediatley the lower (tiny) sidebranches shot up and are fighting for lead position with the top of the plant...

6-18-10 (Day 20) - Began to LST one Blackjack and one bubblelicious (pics to come)...was really tough...things were just so fucking short...

(Girls get their first dose of GROW big tomorrow 6/20)

Sorry no pics today. They're coming. The shortest Blacjack is now pushing its 8th node and it only 3.5 inches tall!! Lst'd plants seem to be doing fine... transplant seems to have gone fine. Everything looks good, nice and stiff/perky.

who the heck is voting 15-20oz? If all 9 make it through.... at 3oz per plant, that's 27oz.... 3oz per plant is what I pulled from my last grow, under one 600w hps.... let's say with the extra wattage, 3 lst'd, blacjack (typically a larger yielder)....I should pull 4oz per plant on the low side I'd think...... I'm conservatively shooting for 4oz per plant. I'd be very happy with that. With that said, I think 6oz per plant is possible...

6-21-10 (Day 23)

Girls got their first dose of grow big, with big bloom (fox farm schedule).

LST'd mystery white (which I think is white widow)

from the back -

From the front -

Really liking how the side branches so quickly work to become a main cola... really cool. I feel that I have in no way pushed the lst'd plants to their limits... I've been really conservative...and I can see the results already... I'm glad I'm only doing 3...seems like it will be a lot of work once I turn on 1600w of HPS

Blacjack #3 - AKA SHORT SEXY BITCH

Look at how short this thing is.... working on pushing its 9TH node (8th just fanning out) and it's only 4 inches tall.....NUTS!

Groups shot...Bitches, bitches, bitches...

The next 3-5 days should show a nice growth spurt.... I'll keep you posted...

as always, questions and comments are encouraged...

and now I'm heading to the couch, where I have waiting a bowl packed with dank bubblelicious and my wife in lingerie...I'M OUT!

6-22-10 (Day 24)

Pics:

Most notably, take a look at the group shot from yesterday's post (24 hours ago) and then look at the group shot from today, "GROW BIG"!!!!!! I know I say it a lot, but everyone is out there trying to reinvent the wheel... Just follow the fox farm schedule and you're cool as a cucumber....

Look at that growth in 24 hours...You see it don't you?

Group Shot

Mystery White (LST)

it really does seem that the plant will do whatever you want it to.... Not sure how much further I'm going to take the LST'ing of the main stem...I may just let it grow after one or two more leaf sets...

Bubblelicious

Blackjack

comments and questions welcome...

Wow man, I just stembled onto this journal. I found your journal through your signature from another really good journal I was reading from where you posted in it, but anyway really good setup! The lights are in great position and the soil mixture is good, like you said, KEEP IT SIMPLE! Good words to grow by. I've always been interested in Lstraining methods. Its so amazing how the plants will respond with a little help and guidance on where or in what direction to grow. Very coo stuff.

The ladies are definitley lovin all that light, the nodes are really together well and got some vigorous growth all together. That 24hr comparison photo is amazing! I have a feeling that you have a badass grow in the making on your hands! Im subscribed! Thanks for the journal so we can watch along and learn along the way too. +rep

Keep growin GooD!

a few things. Regarding LST, I've always wanted to try it, but never had the balls/time to give it a whirl....Always growing for my wife's personal medical supply, so I couldn't risk investing so much time, to screw something up. but since we're now using more light, and more plants, I can experiment and find the best way to yield the best quality medicine for her..and for me..
and also try different strains to find out what works best....

Next grow will be el-dorado, pineapple express, bubblelicous, blackjack, Chrystal, medusa, and maybe some DNA stuff....who knows..

regarding them loving the light... see, I certain they're not getting enough light for vigorous growth, however, they're getting enough to grow slowly, and that's fine with me. Next time I know to use the 1000w MH for 9 ladies in their full sized planters.... I knew I was right about that one... Sorry I cancelled the order on the 1000w mh, didn't think I'd need it..

A few more weeks and we will be entering the FUN period...FLOWERING! Not sure at what height I'm going to switch.... I'm also considering using the 600w HPS as SIDE LIGHTING!! More to come on that..

6-23-10 (day 25)

Things are looking solid. Noticing an increase in gnats... going to buy some diatomaceous tomorrow to hit this issue early....

What do you guys think about vegging less vs more... Start flowering sooner rather than later?

I think its opposite of the old saying when it comes to vegging mary jane, more is definitley better b/c the older they get the more they can produce. Of course the sooner to flower the sooner to smoke so that plays into when you flower also but...if you have the time to let them veg longer you will have better results. Let those babies go a while, their still young! You should see some major growth in the next week or two if you continue to veg them.
