Rubbermaid Ideas!

Hey guys, Im starting to setup my rubbermaids for growing. Any suggestions or ideas are welcome. I will be updating this throughout the day with more pics as I decide what to do.

Im thinking probably this form of stacking

or maybe This form of stacking

But most likly the first.
I will nail a 3-Light-Fixture to the top with 3x Y connecters and 6x 26w CFLs, and 6500s for Veg, 3,000 for Flower

I will put PVC intake on bottom for air intake

I will have a Exaust fan nailed to the rubbermaid, and attach a 6inch Duct which has Carbon filter attached to it to the rubbermaid. Please give me ideas on what to do for how to setup the filter. As of now, I will duct tape some of those pouches to the end of the duct. This will be right near the lights on the back of the box for good cooling

I will put Mylar all over the insides. I cut up 12 huge double sided balloons, which should cover like 4-5 full rubbermaid setups...Should I put mylar on the bottom floor???

So tell me what you think about the general setup, any suggestions??

22 gallon btw. I would cut a hole in the lid of the lower one, if i choose option 1 also.

i would start by mounting the lights to the lid of one of those boxes and just using the one until the plants grow enough to need the lights as high as two tubs up... less crap needed under the pots to raise them to the lights that way.

then, when the time came, i would use the rubbermaid tubs as you have them in the second pic.

i think you will need a couple more PVC parts for the intake since that single bend will not be enough for a light baffle during flowering.

i would plan on experimenting with the exhaust and the filters... your initial idea seems viable for that. to start with, i would put the exhaust in the lid where i would have mounted the lights and then move them to the top of the second bin when the time came.

take your duct tape and seal around where the fan meets the metal duct so that no air can go around the fan. things take the path of least resistance and you want that to be through your tank, not around the edges of your fan.

finally with the exhaust, i would think you needed more pieces for the same reason as the intake... unless those carbon filters block the light.

i would not bother with the reflective material on the floor. i am lazy, doubt it will do much good and am pretty sure it will just get messed up as the grow progresses.

finally, since you are going through this set up to grow, you might want to consider ScrOGing.

enjoy your grow!

thx for response
yeah scrog would be a great idea I think
But It can be a bad idea if theres males... You lose a entire section of the net. And I probably* wont have clones.

I think Ill keep the exhaust there
heres a example of some ideas... the small fan would be inside the tubs btw.. Let me know the best location

small 6" oscillating fan at the bottom of the tank aimed up at an angle across the plants and towards the exhaust.

intake on the lower right corner, exhaust on the upper right diagonal corner... they want to be as far apart from each other as possible.

also, i really would put the exhaust in the very top of the tub rather than on the side... heat rises. take a look at your labeled pic and you will see a couple inches of still area where heat would be trapped and raise the total ambient temp.

as for ScrOG and males... since you have a small area you will want to go from veg to flowering in about 2-3 weeks. this means the plants will be short. with LSTing and topping they can be kept shorter even (both of which should be done IMNHO for ScrOG)... so, you let them show you their sex well before you add the screen. ;)

yeah, i was thinking about putting like 3 pots in there alternating positions.
I would grow them with LST, at end of week 1, or when they are big enough I would start to tie them down with strings or rubber paperclips, and train them across the extent of the are infront of them, and then when it reaches end let the cola grow up. Should have plenty of tops per plant by then.

Yes very good idea... I think i will put the exhaust on the top definitely best location, depending on how stealth i want it.

Also check this out, kinda weird maybe kinda cool =D
transplant maybe like 1-3 times, and end up with 3 rectangular trashcans that fit perfectly together. That would let them get a great root system, might need more water a nutes, but these Expert Gardener nutes I might be using are Very cheap
Again thanks for the feedback!
Leme know what you guys think about it

Ok guys, what do you think about this.
I will get 3 long rectangular pots to fit perfectly inside. Then i will either lst around the area, top them forming a Y on each, or grow them normally.

Which will give the best yield do you guys think?
heres pic of inside of rubbermaid

Any other suggestions or comments welcomed on anything.
