Runoff 8.1pH! With source water 5.5pH!

My soil is MG Organic, coco fiber, perlite, and crushed oyster shell.

I knew my pH was high from a previous runoff test with my digital meter, it was 8.1 pH.

So, I watered with source of 3 gallons of 5.5 pH to help bring it down, container is 4 gallons.

What do I need to do here to get that pH down to a reasonable level?

Plants on week 1 flower, should I lower the source water pH even more when I water tomorrow?

Mix some Dolmite into ur soil. Try not to go from 8.1 to 5.5.. this can shock ur lovelies..
Thanks for being the one out of fifty people to reply bro +rep.

Ok so how am I supposed to mix it in there since the plants are already well rooted in the containers? I am afraid of damaging the roots. Thanks!

I know I know I know, people please you are beating the hell out of a dead horse.

If I could go back, I would get FF, however this is not the case so please help me deal with what I have, thanks.

By the way, the MG soil's pH was 6.3 before I mixed crushed oyster shell with it, now it is pH of 8.1, so it is not the MG soil.

What can I do?

Ive transplanted plants without stunting them a bit,I dont know anyone who can stablelize that soil.Id pull that bitch out of that soil and shake it off without damaging the roots too much. You might not have access to good soil

Transplanting is an option - But wud hav 2b done Very Carefully!
Unless they are so heavily rooted that they r rootbound, it should mix itself in over a few waterings. Just mix it into the top inch or 2 of ur soil and u shud b alright. Other than that, u may b able to get the product in a liquid form, which will mix itself right through, and help to bring ur run-off down.

Are you talking about hydrated dolomitic lime? If I used that, how much would I mix in with water to stabilize it? Thanks!

anyone who has used MG soil and gotten bad results is a result of bad growing practice. Probably the first grow, did everything wrong, and got bad results.

The second grow he used fox farm, did everything right, and got great results.

don't blame the soil.

Anyways start watering it with correctly ph'd water, and the soil will adjust in about a week....

As to how much I'm not sure how stron the product is ur going 2 settle on or how big ur growing area is.. So best to refer to the instructions on it. Peace.

Alright, so I watered again today, and I had the same results. 5.5 pH going in 8.3 pH coming out. It's starting to piss me off.

If it goes too slow then u will get deficiency problems b4 u fix it.
Well I'm sure I already have deficiency problems as it has been high for two weeks.

I just can't see how 5.5 pH in turns into 8.3 pH out from just crushed oyster shell:confused: lol.

Damn Cypress Hill is awesome, lol.

Damn, I will comment tomorrow when I'm not so medicated.

Maybe the shit u just flushed out was the remaining high water in the soil..
Give it another go tomorrow n let us know wat the situation is.
