The most integral part of my security team....and also a Canadian patient of sorts....
passed away last night....
After showing up, out of the blue here a couple of years ago....starving.....and abandoned....
my kids did a nation wide search for his owner...
we took him in and he quickly took to my wife....and has been a companion for her and my kids ever since...
for the first year we didn't even know he was an epileptic...
he was self medicating from my outdoor gardens, only ever grabbing sucker leaves...
we eventually ended up buying meds for him....and he has had a comfortable life for the next three years...
he will be hard to replace....but is in a better less violent place...

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Sorry about your loss dan. On of my dogs was poisoned last year. We thought he was done but an emergency blood transfusion and spleen removed he is good as new. My other dog has arthritis in her back legs. So when I bake canna cookies I always share with her and my wife has noticed a huge difference in dog she dosn't limp she can jump up on things. All the best you and yours in the new year.

Peace

Sad.My parents collie is having a rough time with seizures but strangely enough I never thought about cannabis for a dog. Losing a four-legged companion is almost like losing child. My rotti is my best friend.
love my rotti too :) feel so sad when people cross the street. He just wants to lick the people lol one lady told her young daughter that my dog will grab her with one bite and shake her dead...daughter says "nooo mom hes nice" :D

Sorry dan for your loss, its a tough one. I love my dog more then some family members.

Sorry for the loss of your buddy. I don't know what I would do without our cats.
Thinking of you and your family today.

Best wishes to you and your family cannadan. Can't imagine when times up for my 2 boys. I live by myself(other than them of course) and they really are family to me. I try my hardest not to think about it, too depressing, but unfortunately the thought does cross my mind from time to time.
