safe ?

Here is my opinion on a po box. Its no more risk than having it delivered to your house. The post office doesn't open mail or give it any additional scrutiny if it goes to a PO Box. It might be safer if your hiding something from your wife though ^_^

No safer than home delivery. You will still need to give the PO all your info to rent the box. Big Brother likes to know what we're up to at all times ya know.

If you looking @ as Safer than your Mailbox on the street corner. Yep. But, if your looking @ it as Safer to hide your identity from Johnny Law, nope.

If you really wanted to hide your identity you would need to obtain a fake ID and then use that to get a mailbox at a UPS Store or Mail Boxes Etc... Even those places require a government issued ID but I'm just guessing they wouldn't scrutinize what you presented too much since they are motivated to make money. I think they fill out some form and make a copy that gets sent to Dept of Homeland Security.

LibertyChicken. ,
Can u be a bit more specific so I know which big chains don't require ID.
Thanks
Yes, please provide a little more info. I too am in need of some kind of low risk option as I have no one but myself to ship to.

The _U_P_S_ store

I have had other boxes at other stores at most I have ben asked as a formality , They never do more than make sure the picture matches.

I dont know about the rest of the country but by me mail boxes can be had simpily by offering to rent them from property managers with vacant property, Or you could always just use it

Thanks for reply, interesting. I think I'll go to a few places and if they ask for too much ID I'll just tell them I'll be back, and of course never return.
