Sativas make me parinoid

Who told you to say that? Are you talking to someone I know?

Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean they're not trying to get me,

See indica dominate strains I am okay and if I smoke a sativa at the lake or something I'll be fine but if I smoke at home I get really paranoid and think a lot gets very intense some times, it seems since I quit hard drugs 3 years ago this has been happening anxiety from sativa. And the funny thing is when I was younger all the weed I smoked felt like the same high I don't know maybe my brain. Is just fried

I don't see how people get that paranoid on it you should know its just what you've smoked.. but anyway I dont get those effects and i prefer sativa by a lot. It's a much nicer buzz, indica is fine as long as it has enough THC to still give a head high with a good body
Knowing that its the weed making you paranoid might help a little bit, but it can't entirely eliminate the phenomenon because its a chemical effect of the cannabinoids on your central nervous system. The drug is pushing your brains "anxiety" button.

I've had this effect with really strong sativas. . .its not pleasant, and that's probably one of the reasons they call it "Durban Poison".

One thing you can try to do to reduce this negative side effect is just to control your dosing. The paranoia/anxiety effect is dose dependent. If you smoke too much, and especially if you're new to these sorts of strains that's when the paranoia really kicks in. Its good to wait a few minutes in between hits, ESPECIALLY with new strains when you may not know how potent they are or exactly what to expect.

That, and don't have a dirtbag friend whose idea of funny is to watch you get edgy, then shout "shiiit it's the piiiigs" in your ear. cn

Lol.
@ what subu said I know its the bud that makes me paranoid. Though if you got a "package" coming in the morning or your behind on your work or what ever else you have to worry about, because it is so cerebral you can't help but over think about everything all at once.

Not sure why but every time i smoke a sativa my mind goes a100 thousand miles a minute thinking and worrying about the dumbest shit anybody else have this problem with sativas?
Hell yeah. I love it usually having grown up on killer (usually) Mexican and, if we were lucky and the border guys were, good Colombian pepper weed. But I have also felt like I was flying feet first into space at warp speed. Panic city.

I do prefer the relaxing effect of Indicas, especially at night....but generallY speaking I don't like to smoke during the day. Smoking is more enjoyable to me when I've had a clear head all day.

Sativas are good too, if there Is socializing involved or if we are going to sit up for a while and watch tv or play games. I dont get paranoid with sativas, but If I am already tired or stressed or worried about something, it does make for an uncomfortable buzz, it exaggerates the bad feelings. If I'm rested and feeling good, it can be very euphoric

You said it for me too. I have a good sativa on hand but almost never smoke it as I do 98% of getting high at night, and usually late at night.

I had some Pure Kush which had a lot of indica effect, but also had a sativa or energizing thing with it. It would sometimes wire me up after a long day of work and the effect was to make me miserable. Could not sit still and really needed to just relax and then go to sleep.

I now have Bubba Kush and Grandaddy Purple and get the chill thing going without fail.

I smoked for for 10 years. Then stopped for a few years. I recently started again. The first strain I got was a sativa dom, I used a very small amount, and right away
had very bad anxiety.I tried another sativa, again had anxiety. I then got an indica strain and no anxiety, just a really nice stone.I was wondering why I could always enjoy both years ago but now only indica strains. Then reading what you said about some people cutting it down too soon, and that affecting the high really got me thinking. I have some sour diesel from another guy to try out. Will see how that affects me. Anyway nice to know others out there have these probs on sativas. Maybe just cos people cutting down too soon right enough.

many of us have this deal with some sativa's, but what kind of sativa?
maybe a sativa that's been cut early instead of taking that extra week or 2 to mature properly
so far every strain i've run will be low on the anxiety meter if you let it ripen enough

I smoked fresh leaves during my sativa grow and they added a bit of anxiety. After a six month grow and 6 weeks of curing they are fine.

I am right now playing with Indicas for medication ... but for fun, i like the Sativas. But the paranoia is a definite problem for me. I hear things that I've never heard before, and they spell dooooom. cn
heh. The more sativa you smoke 'recreationally', the more you need dem indica meds to deal with the new levels of awareness constantly being endowed by the sativa head-crawl :O

At least... that's how it is for me. My head is WAY ahead of me, in a way that's pretty much damning. I'm "already dead"... any other form of existence is suffering, though I usually choose it over dead... suppose I gotta learn to lose somehow...

Nobody mentioned the possible cause being linked to an imbalance of CBD to THC ratio? CBD has anti psychotic effects and is generally in low quantities if any in sativas, and THC tends to get your mind racing thinking of many many things at once. Some people just cant enjoy a good sativa high. For those who can this means theres a strain of herb for every minute of the day and night :-)
