grow short marijuana plants. like as short as possible because the height of marijuana can go up to 7ft. I want to keep it around , 4ft or lower. how can i do that? is there different strains ? or does it have to do with the flower or veggie?

Well since you asked it, everyone will recommend LowRyder, but if you're using bagseed you could either go 12/12 from seed, LST, or only veg for like half a month to a month..

Scrog also helps control height, but that's not why people use it.

stick to an idica dominant strain as they grow shorter and bushier than a sativa dom strain.....i also like to apply fimming and lst trainning to create short bushy super dense plants....

i dont think very many people would recomend lowryder at all......i sure wouldnt...unless they were on a time constraint and needed an auto flowering strain.......but if you have height issues you want to go indica..:joint:

grow indicas or indica dominant strains and flower when theyre around 18" tall, in good conditions they'l normally double-triple their veg'd height, or u could grow sativa or sativa dominant strains and give them very little veg time, iv grow a few sats with just a week of veg from sprout and theyve finished 4-5' tall, had 1 that went to 7' with just a weeks veg, some u can start 12/12 from the seed germinating to control height and compensate for the longer finishing times of sats

Oh shit yah I forgot it was auto-flower, but I do see that every time someone asks for height restraints.

lowryders rarely go above 2' and if u got 4' of height they would be a waste of space, i grew a lowryder 2 last year for fun coz i was given a seed and i certainly wouldnt be growing them as my main yield unless i had a real low room. if yr growing bagseed, as its growing out u want to try and determine whether its sat or indie hybrid or whatever then base yr veg time on that, most plants with the exeption of pure and near pure sats, given just half a month, 2weeks veg will probably finish at just 1.5' or there abouts.

yea if u misjudge yr veg or yr plants stretch more than u expect and you start to run out of height u can tie the tops down, just get a brick or anything weighty tie some string around it and place on the floor, bend yr plant over slightly and tie the other end of string around the stem near the top, if needed u can gradually shorten the string as the plant grows, preventing it from hitting the top of yr growroom or lights, or u can train yr plant to grow in pretty much any direction you want starting in veg, tying and staking branches and the stem, it must be done gradually tho a bit each day, or u can top yr plant while in veg slowing upwards growth and promoting longer side branching.

you can lst, fim, supercrop, top, scrog, or veg less. tho i think vegging less affects yield.
lol! lst, fim, supercrop, top, scrog thats a mouthfull of terminology for a newbie eh! I just let mine grow natural always have done, i just remove the lowest 2 or 3 sets of branches a week before 12/12 to improve airflow under the plant and around the pots and i make clones out of the removed branches, then just tie them down if they get too tall, tho im buying a scrog shelf for my budbox soon so im gona give that a go, see if i can get the same out of 2 or 3 plants that i normally get out of 5. And btw i like yr signature, very good.

Did you mention if this grow is in or out of doors? I might have missed it. I simply grow tall plants horizontally. As they begin to grow up, I start training them into a bend <slowly> until they are level with the ground. The lower buds have an opportunity to have full sun/light, and develope completely...Photo included.

Maybe indoor strains and train tie them. Veg to two feet or less then flower. You will have a lower yield than a seven footer for sure. The tying will help get light to more regions of the plant which will give you more buds. Pruning seems to work for some people but I personally do not like to snip anything off the plants because I fear shocking or stunning them.

hey i was wondering the same thing..but wouldnt vegging them for a month or less than a month, affect your yeild??..and whats the benefit of having them grow 12/12 straight from seed??

The benifit from going 12/12 right away is shorter time until harvest but it will most definately reduce your yield significantly over a plant vegged for a month.

planning to veg, it for about 2-4 weeks then move it to flower right away, 12/12 . I dont really much care about how much i yield because im going to maybe have some clones, so it evens it out. lol. but about an estimate how much can i yield? per plant

lights? hydro? soil? under say 600w hps in soil/compost the yeild for the average plant given 2-4wks would be around 1/2-1oz, try and veg til theyre a foot tall at least, in soil in good conditions that would be about 4wks.
