What's up guys. I FUCKING love horror movies and want to know what are the scariest movies of all time. If not scary just cool horror movies that most people don't know about. OOOooooo Scawwwy.

My personal favs. Sleepaway Camp, Insidious (I know, most people will say it wasn't. IT WAS!!!), The Exorcist, A tale of 2 sisters, Ringu, Shutter (It was a good one that most people haven't seen not terribly scary), Texas Chainsaw (Original).

Also on a side note, You have to see horror movies at the theaters if you can. I don't care about comedies, action, drama I can see all that at my house. Horror movies NEED to be seen at the theater, maybe it's the darkness and loud surround sound but it's something special imo. I can't Imagine how scary The Exorcist was back in the day.

Cool movies, I have never heard of those except IT. Clowns are creepy in general though. I'll check them out.

well once you've grown up with them as a kid you cant find one thats even close nothing scares you after you've seen em. then they all become harder to become scary anymore. you have to drop acid to even feel it. thats the sucky part

good to see mention of sleepaway camp, the first one is FUCKED up!

I loved the shining, just wish the tech was there in the early 80s to keep it closer to the book.

It was a much better novel as well, but as it was made for tv it had its limitations, all that fright for it to just be a fucking spider at the end...lame!

No love for the "dead" movies by george a romero? how about return of the living dead?( the first one is really good and explains the zombie eatting brains thing).

the first nightmare on elm was also a very entertaining movie.

se7en is another Awesome movie

28 days/28 weeks later

Slashers

John carpenters the thing (remember when kurt russel was THE MAN?)

Dont be afraid of the dark was pretty good

I think I love the exploitation side of horror just as much as well.
The grindhouse movies are awesome
from dusk till dawn(original)
Piranaha Movies(both new and old)
starship troopers 1
club dread
sin city(horror elements)

the shining is always one of my favorites, since i like the more mentally scary then flashy screen to make you jump type of scary. 28 days later is also a top 5 for me

I like Silent Hill. 28 Days is the best Zombie thriller. Paranormal Activity.

The other night my wife and I watched The Woman in Black, and I actually screamed once. I was kind of playing with my dog and watching it, so it caught me off guard. I haven't screamed at a movie in 30 years. The first 40 minutes are slow, but it takes off like a rocket from there.
