Anybody have any experience with Japanese Whisky's? Specifically as they might appeal to Bourbon rather than Scotch drinkers. Our State store has several at a pretty reasonable price vs the secondary market.

I recently had one called Hatozaki that tastes more of corn than malt. I did not find it a good value.

tried a few, can't remember the names of them right now. not very good overall i thought. maybe a mix b/t rum and bourbon???

ever try the sapporo dark? not a heavy dark though. kirin ichiban is my go to with sushi. and a few gallons of hot sake.
