I want to dedicate this grow journal to SCOTTYBALLS, for inspiring me with his famous Pineapple Express G13 Lab's Seed to Harvest thread. I'm gonna attempt to harvest 11 oz off one plant like SCOTTYBALLS did in his thread.

G13 Pineapple Express
20"x36"x63" Tent
General Hydroponics Waterfarm
Radeon 400 dimmable ballast
Super Sun 2 reflector
Plantmax 400 HPS bulb
TD-150S Silent series fan

On Aug 9th at 7 PM I started the germination process by placing the seed into a wet paper towel, into a plastic sandwich container with sealed lid. I placed that sandwich container in the upper cupboard in my kitchen where it remained a constant 75 degrees. At 24 hours the seed was cracked and the tap root was just starting to exit. I gave it until the 40 hour mark and the tap root was about a half inch in length. I placed that tap rooted seed directly into the hydroton tap root down in between 3 hydroton. I hand watered it occasionally for the next couple days, just to be sure it didn't dry out. Day 1 is when the seed was "above ground" and it actually still had the shell stuck on it. I misted it with water and it came right off.

I'm using GH MaxiBloom at 7 grams per gallon, and 1/4 tsp Dyna-Gro Pro-TeKt per gallon. My tap water is 200 ppm and 9.0 Ph. The final solution is 1320 ppm and 5.5 Ph. I change the res every day.

Here are some previous pics bringing you up to date:

Exactly 1 week from starting germination (dry seed).

Looks pretty good. You vegged under HPS too?
The first 12 days of veg were done under a Plantmax 400 MH bulb. I switched to the HPS bulb at day 13. Here's a couple shots of a couple hours ago. The light was just coming on in the first pic is why the top looks a little redish.

Sweet, could I ask what kind of filter that is in line with the Super Sun II? I have the same reflector and want to utilize the 6" vent lines...right now I have a CAN filter w/4" neck so I have to use reducers.

Thanks guys. I got it on ebay here. It's a nice filter, but it doesn't eliminate 100% of the odor. I'm not sure that any filter will be 100% effective though. Every once in a while there is a slight odor within 5 feet of the filter. It won't "stink up the place" but once in a while if you were to walk within 5 feet you will get a hint of something. It is a nice filter and a nice price.

Wow,.. looking to be on par with where mine was at day 23! You're going to have a beast in a couple weeks. May I suggest trimming the fan leaves when you get to around 35-38 days, get some light on those lower buds. Check out my grow I did this today.

The pics really don't do the plant any justice, because I have the tent in a closet which has double sliding doors, so I can only open one side at a time. I can't take a full frontal shot of the plant. What you see is basically half the plant, where the original main top is the tallest in the center. The other half of the plant you can't really see because it is sloping down on the other side.

Which fans leaves are you talking about, anything left under the screen?

Above the screen. I'll post a pic in my journal. I trimmed all the under growth at day 22.

I'd leave fan leaves alone. Especially on a strain known for dropping a lot of leaves during flower
It's pretty common for waterfarmers to trim under growth and sometimes up top. But you're right. PE does drop leaves almost daily.

Yeah, I don't think I'm gonna cut anything above the screen. What I've noticed is that buds that are further away from the light under a lot of leaves are some of the biggest buds on the plant, because they were the original 1st and 2nd node shoots, and they didn't quite make it to the same height because they were scrogged out to the outer part of the screen. But they have the thickest stems and they have the biggest buds, even though they are the furthest from the light and under a lot of growth. On the other hand, some of the closer buds to the light are some of the smallest stems because they were secondary growth that stretched a lot. Even though they are closer to the light their buds are smaller.

That's a pretty interesting observation. Fortunately for me all of my main shoots made it up and are about the same side as the secondary ones. So it grows pretty even.

Yeah, yours looks great. Mine isn't as pretty as far as even height goes, but there is a TON of bud under all those leaves, and it's gonna be a producer. I have about 50 tops at the top of the canopy.

Seedling,
In your honest opinion, could a 400w SCROG set up like this work w/ a 36x36x60 and two waterfarms or would it not be enough light output?

You could make it work, but a 600 would be better. It would be like two side by side 36x18's, which each of them would be only 2" narrower than what I'm using (36x20) with a 400. As long as you can keep 'em short, due to your 60" height. My 400 easily covers the width of 20", but not so much on the length of 36". If you could keep a 600 cool in a 3x3 tent and keep 'em short it would be much better.

How far above your plant is the scog? I'm looking into a scrog but I'm not sure where to put the screen.ty

The screen is 9" above the Waterfarm.

The plant finally stopped stretching a couple days ago, and today is day 28 of 12/12. I zip tied the light to the tent roof support bars as high as it will go. The main top is only 3" below the glass. The bulb is about 4" above the glass. Here's a couple pics from today. The plant is 24" above the screen! The thing is a beast!!!
