SOG and SCROG are two different tecniques of growing. With SOG, you grow four plants per square feet in single cola style. They look like spikes when they are done. Most SOG growers shoot for between 1/4 and 1/2 ounce per plant ... so they grow a LOT of plants.

SCROG growing done is with fewer plants, with strains that like to stretch. The ideas is to end up with a great harvest from a few plants. The plants are trained under a screen, like chicken wire. All growth below the main canope, except for the main branches is trimmed off. As the plants stretch under the screen, the bud sites are poked through the holes in the screen and they grow upward from there into lots of small colas.

Yeah, that's exactly what you want to do with a screen. Top the plant to get more side branches to train outward. With SOG you don't top, because you want the plants to grow up not out.

You could SOG with a Scrog, but that's kinda missing the point. You'll fill the screen awful quick, with small colas. I doubt you would increase yield or decrease flowering time. The idea behind a scrog is a longer veg time and fewer plants. My 4' x 4' scrog is filled right now, with only two plants. Grow is in my sig.
